Three outstanding catches in this game. Hope to see more of this from him.

Mark Laird doesn't have what it takes to play right field.

I'm assuming there were a group of fans that felt this way before the year.

If he starts to get those bunts down he might bat .300 just by bunting. This guy can flat out fly.

Guy's defense is phenomenal. Now get that bat working and he could be really special.

Every ball he has hit seems like it turned into a double play but the season is still very young. Can't tell much from 8 plate appearances opening weekend.

I heard one of the players say in an interview this week that Laird is hands down the fastest guy on the team...even ahead of Jacoby Jones

My great niece went to high school with him, knows him. When we visit our elderly aunt, she tells me about her high school friend in Monroe that is going to walk on at LSU in FB and BB. Star in the making.

Pretty sure I remember seeing him have more than .000 when he stepped to the plate. Can't remember where he hit it or which game, but I'm pretty sure he isn't hitless.

Yeah he got one on his opening at bat. Just not finding the hole at the moment. 1 strikeout in 2 games so far so he's making contact. They'll start falling.

He's had one hit but also got on by a bad bunt and fielders choice. Then followed that with poor base running that resulted in another double play.

He still has some learning to do but damn his speed and defense is impressive.

Not just yet. He may be in center by the end of the year, but the out field has done a good job so far. No need to make a change like that this early when it's working.

Sciambra still looks uncomfortable to me. He went back on a routine ball today & nearly tripped on his own feet
