La'el Collins Smartest Move

This kid has gotten so much bad advice and it continues. It seems he is being advised to go ahead and negotiate a deal with an NFL team as an Undrafted Free Agent. He is then restricted to the caps in place for an Undrafted Free Agent....namely somewhere around half mil a year (give or take) on a 3 year contract that can be renegotiated after two years, therein getting him in position to make a 7 figure signing bonus in 2 years. If I were his agent, I would hook him up with a ONE year or less contract with either CFL or Arena League. This would then take him out of the realm of the Undrafted Free Agent Salary restrictions and he could negotiate with any team, just like any free agent, and thereby end up with a 7 figure signing bonus in a year or less. I don't see why this wouldn't work....essentially it gets the kid a pay day about a year or more sooner.

Go to the Dolphins. Start at guard immediately. In a year, take over for Branden Albert at LT and make that $$$$$$.

You are a freaking idiot and I can assure you that La'el and his crew along with the great folks here on the Rant don't really give a shite about your opinion on the matter.

You sure about that? I don't know one way of the other, but if it's that simple, why wouldn't more UDFAs try it. Being in the NFL is always better than not being in the NFL.

Because this decision is without any risk of catastrophic injury

Shutup.. this post is full of stupid.

His agent isn't master P. He's got a team of big time experienced agents that know every option available and crunched all the numbers. I'm sure he's getting the best advice possible in a crappy situation

Collins is probably getting paid a bunch of money under the table?

Try researching the NFL union agreement

Go get injured on a one year contract with a cfl team making less than 100 a year. I'm sure the nfl will come calling after that.

And then he breaks his leg in a chop-block and he only has $60k to retire on. See the things agents need to worry about?

Doubt it, but I bet they have a massive pay raise plan for him if he performs.

This. His contract is 100% guaranteed this time around. If he plays the way he's capable of, he'll get the payoff on his 2nd contract. It sucks that this is the way it went down, but he'll recover and be fine in life. Best of luck to a former Tiger great
