With LSU playing ranked teams in 4 of their last 5 games a last place finish in the SEC is all but locked up.

If this occurs and LSU really wants to again be a big force in women's basketball they need to head to WACO open the vault and ask how much would it take for the Louisiana girl to come home.

Looking for a Louisiana girl. Go to Tuscaloosa and hire Kristy Curry. She's already taken Purdue to the National Championship game.

I made that comment a few weeks ago. My friends in Lubbock have cancelled their season tickets in the last few years. Used to have sellout crowds, now almost nobody shows up.

Leave her in Tuscaloosa.

We lost to the University of South Florida in the first round of the NCAA's last year by 9 points. South Florida! Let that sink in for a moment. So last year she was booted by team we should beat every time we play them and this season she is currently 2-9 in the conference, probably going to go 3-13 at best in SEC play and won't make the post season. That's some seriously bad erosion of the program, regardless of injuries. Time to move on, period.

Do we currently have a top 15 program? Cause thats where she is in terms of compensation compared to the rest of the country.

On a side note, does anyone know what the hell is up with Deemer?

I heard mono. Seems logical. She has been at the last couple of games at home, walking around and hanging out with team during warmups, but not really participating. The initial report when she first started missing games was "an illness", so mono seems like a good bet.

We are one more injury away from being in doomsday right now
If we lost Bethel, couldn't imagine how awful we would be. Thank god she is playing through everything.

She's not being paid according to whether we have a top 15 program. She's paid based upon her MARKET VALUE. Now, if they re-sign her at the end of her contract..........THEN they should pay her according to her production.

Could you provide a list of women's coaches' salaries from 2011?

Nope. Not gonna do that. Know why..................? Because it's been done on this board ad nauseum.

Suffice it to say, the $750k/year that she was signed for was what you needed to pay to get a coach to take you back to final four level. So, the fact that it hasn't worked out is unfortunate. But if they want a coach who brings the credentials that coach Fargas brought with her, they're gonna have to pay AT LEAST that much for the next coach. If they decide to go another route and hire a coach from a lesser program, or an assistant from another program, they can get away with paying less.

Seems like somebody who likes to throw around the phrase "market value" as often as you do would want to back up his (her) assertions with some facts.

Man please......................you're one of the main folks that come on here and have SEEN the salary comparisons. If you want to see them go to google and find them yourself. What.........................? You actually think she was overpaid at the time of her signing? Puh-leeze.

If you want a big time, final four level women's basketball program, you ain't gettin' no coach for peanuts. Some of y'all need to understand that. In fact, I hope LSU ups the ante next time so that they can make a run at one of the big name coaches as opposed to one of the young up and comers, as Nikki was.

I have NEVER seen a comprehensive list of salaries on TD, and when I have tried to look them up, with all the different bonus structures, radio & TV, etc, it's apples and oranges. I figured you'd have it handy since you talk about "market value" so much. Where is the list you based your "market value" opinion on?

I said she was overpaid when we hired her, and I have been proven correct. What she has delivered are not $750K results. We could have found 20 coaches who'd have taken the job for much less, and produced similar results.

She's not paid based on her results at LSU. She's paid according to what her market value was when we hired her. You think Alleva and the administration just decided to give her $750k/year on a whim?
