Every coach at LSU makes entirely too much money. Tell me something new.

At least they have won championships and have the programs heading in the right direction. For the ones that matter at least.

The money doesn't matter to me, she turned UCLA around quickly into a top ten team. She was one of the hottest new coaches in the country. Now, she did do well her first couple season here. She had a lot of talent to work with and molded them well.

Now the last two year have been all of her players. This is now HER system. Which, philosophy wise, I like, the issue is we don't have the players for it. I understand its was expected to be a rough season after Moncrief and Mitchell went down but its unacceptable how bad we have been. If you watch these players play. We just aren't talented enough to stay on the floor with anyone, an entire game, then Caldwell keeps referencing its "a 40 minute game".

I mean no shite, but what she has gotten is what she has. Aside for Hyder and Moncrief, no one on the roster really is of SEC caliber.

If you look at next season, yes, we have some decent transfers and an average class of unknowns coming in. I consider Caldwell a Trent Johnson type of coach, when she has players, she can create an elite team, but she can't bring in anyone to save her life.

Its pretty telling as well when your states top prospects since her arrival haven't really considered LSU nor have they been in the mix. I just dont see what the point is of keeping Caldwell if she can't recruit, and we rely on transfers every year.
I think there will definitely be a strong evaluation of Caldwell and her staff after this season closes, either she will be canned or they will give her next season.

Meh..............championships don't matter when you're hiring a coach. All that matters is market value.

Oh and by the way.................all sports at LSU "matter" or the university wouldn't have them.

Exactly!

Although I really don't think they're going to fire her at the end of this season. I think she's gonna get one more season. However, I don't have a problem with them firing her...................they just better make sure they get someone good and has a track record of success. In the end, somebody like Nikki Caldwell at UCLA.

Are there even good coaches out on the market?

No. That's why we should bring back Pokey.

To the people who said Nikki had some good seasons, when were those seasons? She has never finished better than 4th in the conference. She went to the sweet sixteen twice, but only because women's basketball is a joke and they let 11 seeds host regionals. This is a program that went to five straight final fours. Nikki Caldwell has not been successful. This is year 5, she has done nothing to deserve a sixth season.

The LSU administration wouldn't have enough balls to hire Pokey back really thinking about it. I think they are afraid of the image of what was thought of her when she left. I would kill to have Pokey back.

We were really like a 7 or a 6 seed but the point still stands. We only advanced because we got the first two rounds at home.

Van didn't do a great job with the program, but he did at least recruit good talent. When Nikki came in, she did have a bit of talent to work with. After all the players of the last coach was gone, we have hit a wall. This year, reality is starting to hit, lack of depth, lack of talent.

Kim Mulkey is up in age, I would love to take a chance on her assistant Toyelle Wilson she's in her third season at Baylor. as head coach she led the Prairie View to three straight SWAC Tournament championships and NCAA Tournament appearances. Also it's a few in state girls thats really good that Nikki havebt even bothered to look at Baylor, La Tech and Florida St already on them.

Can she recruit? At this point,we need someone to fill the roster with elite talent. Will take years to fix this issue

Are you serious...................?

You think Nikki is having trouble recruiting but you want to bring back a coach whom most parents would be afraid to trust with their daughters?

The lack of intelligence on this board, sometimes is mind-boggling
