Do you think it will ever get back to where Sue and Pokey had it at such a high level? Does not look promising at all.

Lot of factors in building a contender. 1st up: Recruiting. Caldwell gets an F- on this grade. Unless that drastically improves, she must be replaced.

Watched them play on Nat'l tv last week to basically an empty arena. That usually says it all to the tv viewer.

Actually she should be fired now. There is no reason to keep her around unless it is something in her contract that would prevent some sort of buyout. This is such a disaster that she has to know this is her last year. Injuries or no injuries.

If this occurs and LSU really wants to again be a big force in women's basketball they need to head to WACO open the vault and ask how much would it take for the Louisiana girl to come home.

Summit is retired and Geno may not be far away. Women's basketball is wide open and the combination of the facilities, the tradition over the past decade and Kim Mulkey would rule the sport for the next decade. Look at what A&M and South Carolina, Kentucky have done after being also-rans in womens hoops for years.

And it's not like we have a top 10 class coming in either. I'd cut bait and find an up and comer.

If Joe Alleva doesn't fire her after the season then he is an even bigger dumb arse than expected

Maybe if we bring Pokey back, but that's not going to happen.

Doesn't Nikki Caldwell (or Fargas) make the same as Paul Manieri? Please tell me I'm wrong.

Temeka Johnson is 34, she has to be on the tail end of her career. Hire her and make bob starkey the assoc. head coach.

Actually, I believe she makes more than him.

She makes $700,000/yr + Incentives(possible of making
1.25 mil/yr) . Mainieri makes $625,000/yr + Incentives(possible of making 910,000/yr).

If Mulkey would even consider coming here we would have to pay over 1 mil because that is what she makes at Baylor. This would mean that CPM would get an increase to right at a mil as well.

I would love this hire but this ain't happening unless she wants to come and be close to her son and watch his last few years a baseball.

All the injuries and player dismissals aside, Nikki Caldwell has literally been as train wreck at LSU. First and foremost her inability to recruit players of SEC caliber has devastated this team. It was said coming in from UCLA fans that this would happen and they were right.

This program is a freakin mess and I can not for the life of me see LSU keeping a 700K/yr coach that makes it look like an accident when her team's win.

Letting Kalani Brown leave Louisiana turned my opinion of Nikki, I don't care, you do not let a player like that get out of state. From the sounds of it Nikki's staff never really went after Brown seriously. Pathetic.

That ship sailed a long time ago. Kim Mulkey isn't coming here for all of the money in the world.

Lower the goals and play on a smaller court and I might (operative word) care a little but about women's basketball. It really is impossible to watch.

Recruiting has been her downfall, she can't recruit anyone, thus relying on transfer from other schools. I don't see a point in retaining her, injuries or not, she does not have any elite talent coming in anytime soon. It doesn't matter how well we are coached. Our talent level is equivalent of a highs school team practically. If Alleva does retain her, it will be a complete failure on his part. She took a program with talent. And took it far her first couple years, now in her last two years, where every player is hers, we are seeing a HUGE drop off. She has driven this program into the ground and sucked the life out of it. Its far from enjoyable anymore. I still watch most games because I support them but its infuriating to watch.
