I prefer and love Tech, but I'm not going to get into this argument. This is a sports board, not an academic comparison board... We're not here to insult each other's education are we?

I've lived in Colombia and Japan, so yes. You're just being arrogant. This is about two football programs, not slamming the two sides of the state or insulting people's education.

Southern Arkansas is Northern Louisiana, or vice versa

You forgot to include East Texas. There are plenty of good folks in the Piney Hills that live in eastern Texas. :)

I have never been to Ruston. Anywhere above Ville Platte is like a different planet. I am not saying I would never move there for a job but I prefer southern Louisiana.

Whoops, I typed in Japanese and it didn't work on this board, hence all the numbers.

Also, yes, Tech's engineering is THE best in the state. The various schools have their strong points and that is definitely Tech's biggest one.

yea I was raised in S. LA and now I'm a senior at tech... it really is like a completely different world. The food isn't as good, the parties aren't as wild, but man do they love Jesus up here. I swear there are more churches than people. All in all though, it really grows on you. As a freshman/sophomore I hated ruston, but now it's sort of my goal to land a teaching job back here after I get my Ph.D. It's a really great place to raise a family.

LSU> Tech in academics
I believe Tech is either a tier 3 school or a tier 4 school and LSU is ranked as a tier 1 school. LSU is also harder to get into. Look it up, end of argument. That Tech message board is full of delusional idiots that don't need to reproduce. One of them told me one time Ruston had the most millionaires per capita in the world

I find that hard to believe. How much money do they have for research? Where are there professors from? I don't think LSU is the greatest, but I feel very confident that LSU is definitely a better engineering school.

The linked board that brings up petroleum engineering is stupid because there are very few programs in the country anyways. Chemical Engineering is also a far superior program too.
