This may be an OT topic.

Have guy here in Nashville who does recruiting for us and is from LA with no ties to Bama but went there for undergrad. Get pissed every time I see his truck with Saints and Bama sticker on the back. Am I alone in totally not respecting these guys for spurning their state for a school they have no ties to?

Who cares, I'm always for Louisiana kids going somewhere and finding success. Especially since many still take up residence in the state and help out within the state.

Jesus Christ you take this stuff way too seriously. Some people just don't want to stay in state for school

Plenty of LSU players are from out of state, without previous ties to LSU. Do you not respect them either?

You're not alone but you're unreasonable. Not everyone wants to stay in state for school and not everyone in the state is an LSU fan. Get over it

These are 17-18 year olds who are creating their own dreams regardless of our LSU passions.

I talked to a guy at ESPN yesterday and offered a choice of four leather lazyboys to sit on. Each had a stitched logo: Cavaliers, Bama, Cubs, Penguins. He motioned that I could sit in any chair - waving vaguely towards the Bama chair. I looked him in the eye, pointed at it and said, "I'd rather die than sit in that chair."

I grew up in Florida. My mother highly encouraged me and my siblings to go to college out of state. She wanted all of us to see a world beyond.

It's not for everyone, but I can't get too upset with kids that do it.

Yea going to Alabama from Louisiana is not exactly seeing the world unless you have an affinity for inbred Gumps!

Let 'em go out and see the world. In the end, it makes them realize how awesome LA really is.
That was my story. I miss it. I get back annually. I can't wait to move back permanently.

True Story.

Hired a Sorority girl from LSU to help our 6th grader with his homework. She is from Birmingham, Alabama. Both parents are Bama grads.

She wanted to go somewhere else to go to school. Her parents were open to that, EXCEPT her Dad said he wasn't sending one penny to Auburn. LOL

So, here she is at LSU......

Similar story here. I grew up in Auburn and didn't want to stay there. Recruited heavily by Alabama but wanted to go out of state--and also couldn't stomach being an Alabama fan for the rest of my life. More than happy to be an LSU Tiger.

So, as much as I hate Alabama, I don't blame an LA kid for going somewhere else.
