The obvious key is protecting the QB and QB execution. I wanted to point out that converting on 3rd down will be of the utmost importance because we will see more 3rd downs in this game than any other. Bama will do what it takes to stop the 8-10 yard runs (not saying they will be successful at this), so the key will be executing 3rd and short. What will be our go to 3rd down play(s)?

Depends on the yads to go. If it's third and short, LSU needs to run a few PA passes to keep the defense honest. Once they can't be sure what coming on 3rd and short, we'll really have them in a pinch. 3rd and medium to long, let Harris throw. Also his feet will probably get us a few critical first downs.

That depends greatly upon distance, location on the field, point in the game, previous defensive tendencies, and score.

According to their fans, LSU shouldn't even show up.

Misdirection. Offensive creativity. Control lines of scrimmage.

Yep, both are equally important.

Our OL has to hold up in pass protection to give Harris time to read the D and make quality throws. Give LF a crease her and there and Im betting he will get 150 yds in this game.

Our DL can't let their OL push us around and therefore allow Henry to get to the 2d level of the D. Get some pressure on Coker. I think we can force him into some mistakes.

We can all take stabs at what we guess to be the key but it's 20 year-olds out there playing a game that can break innumerable different ways. No one can know beforehand precisely what the most important thing will be for either team. It could be a facet of any phase of any portion of either side's game. Or just one single play. Or an injury. Or weather. Or a call or no-call from the refs. There are way too many variables at work here to single out a "key".

tl/dr: Have more points at the end of the game.

I would like to add that the key to beating BAMA is to stop the screens and draws to Henry/Drake on 2nd & 3rd down.

Get an early lead to take the crowd out of it. Brian Dennehy stadium can get really raucous when they're playing well.

Lots of keys, but the most important is turnovers. Ole Miss proved that...

If you beat Bama's defense consistently on first down you win

That's pretty much the key to beating any Saban team. Win on first down so they can't dictate the game with their defense

Nice attempt but you're short of the marker. Key to victory will be field position. We can't give Bama a short field since they don't have the 3rd down efficiency to drive the length of the field--they tend to stall out. This means we need to cover the damn kicks and punts and not turn the ball over.

Normally this game comes down to how our QB plays, but this year will be different...it will come down to how Coker plays. He's been better on the road than at home. Bama's poor 3rd down conversion rate has been due to Coker's inability to convert 3rd and longs. He takes a lot of bad sacks at home.

LSU has an offensive line that Alabama has not faced all year. Their defense by the 4th quarter will be on their backs.
