I liked the way he called defense on those three plays. At least now we can say his last game as a DC was a shutout

It seems like he will get creative with his blitzes and be aggressive. I expect us to put a lot of pressure on Dak next Saturday.

I liked the formations the defense used. The defensive line looked great. They came off the ball running towards the o-line and attacked. Steele and O have made a big impact. The blitz package was sloppily done because of the cadence but on 3rd down there was a nice stunt by a Tashawn that allowed Deion Jones to freely enter the backfield on a blitz. Beckwith was running with White and made the hit on the guy.

Beck is so damn fast.

I liked Jefferson coming off the edge on that 3rd down.

Deion took a terrible angle on that blitz. He was unblocked and ran way too wide. But I agree, I like the formation and the call.

Did KTII start at CB opposite Shaq white? I know he made a good tackle on the edge.

Maybe his assignment was to stay wide to contain

Not necessarily contain but I do believe his job was to get wide enough so that Bower's stunt didn't allow the line to be flanked. The guy that was freed up from Deion blitzing was subsequently tackled by Beckwith. I really think the philosophy has changed a lot.

1st down - attack the LOS with the defensive line and limit the yardage.
2nd down - blitz to keep them at 3rd and long
3rd down - play the safeties and corners back a bit and confuse the QB to prevent a first down.

That's what his team mates call him.

LSU played 3minutes last night and totaled the equal number of sacks as LSU #1 DE and current Viking DE Danielle Hunter had for the entire year in 2014.

Hunter is 6'5 250lbs+, runs a 4.5 and has the wingspan of a pterodactyl.

I think that was the biggest issue with missing this game is the loss of using MackNeese's QB as a warmup for Dak's mobility. Obviously not the same talent level but would have been a good test to see them keep him bottled up

I came home and watched what little replay we had. The defense looked totally different than the last few years. The d-line was aggressive and that was the first time we've seen a safety blitz in 6 years. It was just 3 plays but it was a good start. On the play you're talking about it appeared that Debo's assignment was to chip the guy that caught the ball at the LOS. He just got there too late.

I loved seeing the defensive line fly off the LOS at the o-line. I haven't seen anything like that in a very long time. It was beautiful.

Yup, the LaRon Landry and Chad Jones safety blitzes come to mind.
