However, pro coaches usually stay pro.

Doesn't he have a house in Old Perkins? I swear Ive seen him check his mail before. Right behind Blue Bayou.

Also, the guy was a freak player but doesn't mean he is a great coach.

He had big interest.
If Ed is going to bring back all the players , what better than another La. native that has proven himself .
Oh, but maybe we need to keep Grimes?
How is that working ?

The guy is a student of the game. Based on hearing him talk and breakdown stuff Id say he'd be a great coach and is why he got the gig in Chic. I think he would come back

I don't think he ever coached. I would like him to coach and recruit olinemen
at LSU though

what the hell is an assistant Oline coach?

what i'm hearing is that he has no coaching experience and now I hear he assisted a coach. man, if he wants to be a coach why hasn't he paid his dues like other coaches. it seems he just sits there and demands LSU call him to be a coach.

Love to see Mawae at line coach particularly with Jenkins around for awhile. And Mawae did express interest during Grimes hire.

OLine is the single most important position for us to improve on at this point. I just hope whoever it is is a sure fire success. If that'sw Mawae, then great, but is seems like a gamble at this juncture.

He already trains some juniors and seniors going to the NFL combine to try to help their draft stock. He never was the biggest fastest are strongest guys but his knowledge of the line and blocking assignments and his leverage andtechnique is off the charts. His knowledge can be taught he could teach technique and leverage that's all you need to do to be a good offensive line coach. Not to mention the recruits you could get just from his history

Miles isn't in the same galaxy as Mawae at Oline and Grimes can pack up. I guess Peyton Manning couldn't be a OC or HC because he has never been one. It's hilarious listening to people talk a about Mawae not being qualified when he was a pro center for 15 years and called every defense. I swear these people believe Miles was competent. Miles love to tinker with oline and with Mawae he can't and that intimidated Miles.
