Kenny Hilliard Projections

88 carries 510 rushing yards
10 touchdowns
7 catches 21 yards
About 7 touches a game on average.
What says the rant?
I am hoping he plays a pure short yardage back and will be used at fullback in certain packages. He is motivated and I think the coaches will use him to close out close games with great success.
Imagine after chasing T. Magee around, trying to corral Fournette inside and outside... in comes #27 fresh and looking to move the pile.
I have been this excited about a trio of running backs in a few seasons.

Id love to see him really give Magee and Buga a tough challenge. Hes got the most experience amongst the three, but as of now I think Magee is theman to beat. If anyone does it, it will Buga. Ill go out and say Hillard rushes for 650-750 yards this year

About 600 yards rushing. 12 touchdowns. I see him getting the majority of the touches near the goal line.

We all love LF & Magee...but we really need Kenny to be our bell cow.
We need him to wear down the D and fight for those tough yards. Especially in the red zone. LF & Magee will SHINE if he can do that for us.
Kenny is the key to our running game IMO

He'll score a lot of touchdowns.

He's dropped the weight and I'm sure his speed is back up also. He will be our second best RB. Mark it down...

the problem is he hasn't ran with the same bulldozing mindset as he did in 2011. If he stays up after first contact then he will probably get a lot of carries

I mean its pretty incredible the stable of backs we have.
All of them look like punishers IMO

Hilliard was a disappointment imo. He doesn't have good vision, doesn't have great moves and goes down easy on occasion. And the opponent knows that when he plays in short yardage situations he will get the ball most of the time.I hope he has a great year and takes some pressure off our other 2 backs. He certainly has had flashes when he looked good but overall he wasn't near as good as TM.

Probably about right.

To be fair, he didn't get nearly the amount of carries last season to improve on any of those things.
He's probably going to be looking at 12-15 touches a game IMO. He'll have the opportunity to show off his improvement.

I was watching Dalton Hilliard videos of when he was at LSU, I really see almost no similarities physically between the 2.

I don't even think he gets that

we'll probably be 65run/35pass. shorter games with fewer plays, i'd say 12-15 touches is reasonable. will probably be featured in 2 drives per game, and additional carries will come in short yardage and gl situations.

I definitely wouldn't mind if he would get that much work, but knowing Les and Cam, I can see us riding Magee in close games and I can see us using the freshman duo in the non-conference games.
I didn't mean to leave out Darrel Williams in my initial post, I just know as the fourth back he will get limited touches, but hopefully he makes the most out of them.
Also to be complete can't forget about the only other RB on the roster- Reshaud Henry. Whether or not he gets a carry, we shall see, but to be fifth in line at LSU is pretty legit. Maybe he can get some touches in the non-conference games next month.
18 Terrence Magee RB 5-9 214 Sr. 2L Franklinton, La. (Franklinton HS)
7 Leonard Fournette RB 6-1 224 Fr. HS New Orleans, La. (Saint Augustine HS)
25 Reshaud Henry RB 5-8 201 Fr. RS Ponchatoula, La. (Ponchatoula HS)
34 Darrel Williams RB 5-11 209 Fr. HS Marrero, La. (John Ehret HS)
27 Kenny Hilliard RB 6-0 233 Sr. 3L Patterson, La. (Patterson HS)
All over 200 lbs, all under 6-2. All from LOUISIANA. I'm excited for this crew.

Looking back at our RB carries the past three seasons (this does not include FB, WR or QB rushing attempts:
2013-
Hill 203
Magee 86
Blue 71
Kenny 68
2012-
Hill 142
Ware 94
Kenny 82
Ford 71
Blue 46
2011-
Ware 177
Ford 127
Blue 78
Kenny 62
Magee 27
Gore 8
I have no idea how to fully project all four of our backs due to the possible greatness that is Leonard Fournette, but I don't think any back hits 160 carries, yet I think all four will likely hit the 75 carry mark.
