I have wanted him gone for so long. I admit it. But after last weekend, something feels different.

There's hope. It's cautious optimism, I know. But it's real.

I really think the Wisconsin game is the best thing that could have happened to Les. He's old and hard headed, and it got his attention. He knows he's got to win out to keep his job.

If we win out, and take the natl. championship game, I'm in favor of giving him an extension and a raise.

No. How bout a nice severance package, a thank you, and a foot on the backside out the door.

You've convinced me, I'm back on the bandwagon. Les really is a great man and has been good to the community. who cares if he losses a couple of games a year. He is a great ambassador for our school.

Really? You'd keep him after he won a natty? I don't believe it!

At least half of the posters here would bitch about how lucky he was

Meh.. Fine, keep him if all that plays out, but don't extend his contract. When they extended it a few years ago I cringed. That was way too long of an extension. It hurt us at the end of last year, and it's hurting us now.

Why would you consider getting rid of a coach whose team just won the National Championship?

Maybe finish the contract, but no raise or extension.

Obviously this is an extremely unlikely scenario, but if anyone thinks he's not staying and in fact getting a raise and extension if he wins the national championship, you need to have your head examined

Yup, no matter what don't extend him. Wouldn't even give him a raise either.

He can finish out his contract and go from there.

Not concerned of Les leaving and even if he did I would be happy.

I don't like having to wait 4 years just to see a decent passing game.. And he still very much frustrates me on a number of issues.. I hope they win every game, but I still prefer a new direction.. If he truly won out I recognize he would have earned staying. I wish he would retire and go out on top though.

I'm not sure if you watched us play or saw what happened last year, but when we play sloppy against these bad teams and eke out wins, we play sloppy against Alabama and lose.

I know what you mean. It happens to me every year too and is trying to creep in again this year. Don't fall for it. It's a trap.

True only in a football context, of course. There are many things worse than thinking your football team has a chance when it doesn't. Like spiders. There's nothing worse than spiders.
