Great, great football player. At least from everything I've read. He gets very little love for some reason when we talk about past greats. But he was awesome at LSU, won Super Bowls in the NFL and is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Guess who opens the door when i knocked, yep ole Jimmy Taylor. He was awesome told me all kinds of great stories. Come to find out i actually know is nephew pretty well and hunt with him from time to time. I know CSB

Very nice guy, and seemed genuinely pleased to be recognized by a "youngster." He played at LSU a few years before I was born, but I do remember him with the Packers and Saints. I'm a Packers fan to this day because of him, despite that Gump douche Eddie Lacey.

I remember him very well, he would rather run over
someone than run around them...

I know both him and his wife and they are both really nice people. He has some really interesting stories to tell.
In NFL circles, he can go anywhere he wants. Some of his most interesting stories are about well known people he has met and played golf with.

Jim Taylor epitomized the old school "tough- run over you" running back in the NFL.
Great watching him when he was in Green Bay.

When Mike Anderson's was in the old white house outside the Gate when you go to Highland the Catfish was to die for and they gave you a lot. The highlight of going to Football Games was eating at Mike Anderson's!

I remember Lombardi getting pissed at Taylor when they were playing against the Giants - Taylor would bust through the line and head straight to a LB/DB to punish them instead of running toward the goal line - he wasn't afraid to knock heads with Sam Huff and Jimmy could jaw with the best of them once he laid wood.

What an honor and privilege to meet him.
Perhaps, he is the least recognized LSU great ever.

As a kid I remember plaster from the ceiling falling on the table but man the food was good.

To the OP, did JT show you his Championship watch? they didnt have rings yet and it wasnt a super bowl just NFL Championship, it had a Packer helmet on the face and it seemed like it weighed 4 pounds, solid gold.

Jim Taylor was great, but his ego is even greater. Yeah, he tells great stories because he loves to talk about himself and who he knows. Humility is not in him.
