I think the only chance we have to win this game is if Anthony Jennings pops up like Mettenberger did on his first starting year against Bama

Anthony Jennings is not Mett

But you're right. I just wish there was a chance of it happening.

never said he was, but he needs to show up like mettenberger did that year against Bama, if you look at the games before that one mettenberger wasn't too hot, throwing less than 200 yards most of the games, he even had less than 100 against a&m, then he throws for 298 against Bama, a top defense

We need "last drive vs Arky" Jennings to show up. Damn, the future looked so bright for those 90 seconds.

That was a kid that just ran out and played football. Now Miles has beaten fear into his head and he'll never be the same.

This is a thread in and of itself. This psychosocial dynamic should be evaluated. Same thing happened to Jordan Jefferson as a freshman. Future looked bright. Then he bscame a scared to death qb

Does miles crush the confidence of the qb? Mett was the only good one we've had in a while and miles didn't get his hands on him early. Making them scared to play and having no confidence in them?

The amount of crap that gets posted regarding the quarterback situation is phenomenal.

And kind of fun to read.

So now you're a world renowned psychologist analyzing the psyche of people you probably know nothing about. I've seen Jennings stand in the pocket and deliver throws even though he knows some defender is about to rock him. He doesn't play afraid and you're an absolute moron for thinking that Miles is driving fear in his QB's.

I can't look away. I swore the last thread I was reading on another board was the last, yet here I am again

This is a great point, there was a great example of this against UK..the ball was incomplete but it was a good ball and he got crushed

Not fear of getting hit, fear of throwing picks.

As far as what we knew about him before the Bama game in 2012 and what we know about Jennings now, they're pretty similar.

He is scared to death of turning the ball over. Miles drills this into his QBs.

You people are insane. The offensive coaches probably don't want a Jarrett Lee "throw 15 touchdowns to the wrong team" season again (God forbid), but I don't think anyone is "scared to play".

Not even close man. Mett is an NFL caliber QB and a lot of people knew that even then. AJ is not. This really isn't that complicated.

He didn't show it on the field though. Ole Miss might have a good defense, but as far as I know, they didn't become an NFL expansion team.

That's exactly who we have. The guy that can chunk it down field and score a td. He just needs to improve the rest of his game.

Yes he did. Just not as often. AJ can make the long pass down the field, sometimes. That's it.

They're gonna look like one when the put 8 or 9 in the box and stuff out run all night.
