Some tougher teams in OOC play? I know you can't play 4 tough teams but you could schedule one?

I think he tries to build confidence in the team. He wants the team to know what it feels like to win games.

have to get those wins up, if he loses 6 ooc games. he might not win 20 in the season, that looks bad. we are young, hopefully they will get some good exp and come hungry next season.

Mainly because at the start of the season you are trying to figure out your rotation, put kids in different positions to see how they react, stretch out your starters, find a 3rd arm, figure out the bullpen, etc....
You start off against some top competition you lose some of that flexibility to figure out your team.

Or the logic can work opposite.
Your team doesn't get tested. You can't see who can hit good pitching and who can be relied upon to get out good hitting. I put it this way yesterday. As fans, we've been saying that we need to wait until middle of SEC to know anything about this team because OOC was so easy. Pretty logical right? Why are coaches any different? They have to deal with the same issue. It handcuffs them somewhat.
