Kid had a hell of a weekend.

Do you think this kid plays himself into the everyday lineup? and if so, what spot? catcher? DH? somewhere else?

He definitely made a case for himself. I'm just hoping our depth maintains. Too early to tell if he will beat anyone out, but man he sure impressed.

Yes - I think needs to be in line-up at catcher, DH or first base. This team may be offensive-challenged from time to time and his bat will be needed. Same goes for Freeman and Lochridge. Too good of bats not to find a place on field.

Piaperski was great behind the plate this weekend, I dont think he takes the C spot. Probably DH or 1st.

Who do you think will get the short end of the stick if he plays his way onto the field? my guess is that either Robertson or Dawson swing and miss their way out of the lineup and there is a shakeup of the infield.

I say Let him DH against righties and put him at 1st against lefties and slide Adams into the DH spot when Romero goes to first

I hope he works his bat in the lineup. imo, papierski is too valuable behind the plate to sit him. romero could spell him at C and could spell, or even replace, or current DH. i'm not yet enamored with one of the Jordon twins.

Robertson will figure out a way to end his starting tenure.

you just cant have 2 middle infielders that cant hit. they are usually some of your most athletic players and we need at least one to get on base.

Chris Chinea 2.0

If he continues to hit like this, CPM will find a way to make him a mainstay in the lineup. Someone said in one of the game threads that he has never played or practiced at 1st base, so I don't know if that's an immediate move he can make. But I expect to see him DH a lot more and probably be the Sunday regular behind the plate.

I don't think he gets on the field at catcher besides to give Pap a game off. Pap is better defensively. I think we could see an infield of:

1B: Romero
2B: Diechmann
SS: Robertson/Dawson
3B: Freeman/Lockridge

They need to take Robertson out the line up and move Dieckmann to second and Romero to first base.

I think Freeman is a scrappy player, but I wasn't all they impressed with him at the plate. He is definitely a better hitter than Robertson or Dawson at this point though. I haven't seen enough to know if he can handle SS with little to no drop off between him and Dawson/Robertson

He may work himself into the lineup and right now he's definitely making it impossible for Mainieri to keep him on the bench with question marks still in that lineup.

With that being said Papieriski's job at catcher is not in jeopardy if Romero finds himself in the lineup it will be in some fashion of DH or 1B.

*This doesn't include days where Romero will give Papierski a day off.
