If he were, it would have been after getting beat by 34 against an unranked team.

It's a shame, because Livingston might could get this team into the tournament (or at least the bubble).

Why is there a large contingent of people who believe Livingston would be really good? Does he have past success that leads you to believe that?

This is still kinda considered early in the season. The bigger mistake was not firing him after last year.

Alleva said the same thing about Miles in 2015. At some point, enough is enough.

There really is no reason to fire him mid season. Just wait it out and do it after

Alleva would love to make that easy transition.

Maybe because he has D-League HC experience? Anything could be better than the last days of Dale and North Texas!

Yeah I can't see them firing him this early. Should have done it after last season when we didn't make the tourney

We've been infected by the "he's one of us" virus.

Is he the most successful coaches in program history? NO? Then Alleva will definitely keep him.

Sounds very familiar.

This is the answer. There was enough on this team coming into this season that a new coach could have had decent success (though I guess you could argue the same about next season with no Seniors in the current starting 5)

Still, there's no reason to upset the apple cart with a mid-season firing. I don't really know what advantage it would give Alleva in looking for the next coach. Clearly the Miles mid-season firing didn't give Alleva any advantage, unless Ed O was on the short-list for the job from the outset

I'd be happier with a mid-season firing of Alleva. God knows the longer he stays, the better chance some average HC with no other power-conf. suitors will be primed to make the jump up to LSU

Alleva likes to fire coaches midseason in order to get a jump on the rest of the country to hire from within, so Livingston is in a great spot.

no, this team is bad. They're weak and small. No defense. Just not very good.

the common grass is always greener fallacy. Every sports fan falls victim to it.
