Would him receiving impermissible benefits have any effect on his eligibility in the eyes of the NCAA?

I think they have to attend the school for a certain amount of time and/or have the coach as a legal guardian. I know a guy playing for Tulane that stayed with his head coach in high school because his parents moved away his junior season. But I believe the coach became his legal guardian.

I believe you are correct about the legal guardian thing. JT think he and his school are above the rules. People can bitch all they want and disagree and say the rules are stupid. But the rule is in place so just follow it or have it changed.

You mus just want to bash John Curtis? Everything isn't black and white. This coach opened up his home to help this kid as have thousands of coaches before him. Nobody worried about rules they were just trying to help out a kid. If this is against the rules is it against the rules for a coach to give a kid a ride home? Where does it stop?

frick John Curtis.

I care about LSU and LSU only.

They could forfeit their entire history, shite isn't relevant to us.

Didn't Reggie Bush move in with Curtis at some point in his h.school career?

Why would Reggie Bush move in with Curtis?

You mean the "next Reggie Bush" aka Joe McKnight.

Seems like the kid's life really benefited from the arrangement.

Who cares about "forfeiting" games you've already won? IF it was the right thing, it was the right thing.

This is just an attempt to hurt John Curtis High School. It's time for the "select" high schools to form a new league. By the way I am not a fan of Curtis or his football factory.

John Curtis thinks he is more important than he really is. Screw him.

there is no simple answer to this problem. the rule is there for a reason and i'm sure it would be abused big time if it was allowed. on the other hand, legitimately helping out a kid is a good thing and maybe a life changing thing (for the better). while I don't know the answer there should be some situations where this could be approved. imo, the kids should be the ones we should be helping and it should be all about them.
