Joe updated his Bracketology today and las LSU as a 5 seed. I think it's a really good starting point. That basically has us as a top 20 team which is about where we should expect to start the year.

Top 25 is huge because it is normally the only games ESPN shows highlights for on Sportcenter. That is big for recruiting as these young guys get to see your program mainstream.

I'll take the over (meaning lower seed, ie better).

But that's a decent baseline I guess.

Nice place to start from. The Australia trip should help this team a lot, we've already started practice. Really looking forward to this season.

I've been getting so excited with all the news coming out of the basketball practices, but it is gonna suck when it's over and we have to go back to no hoops for another month and a half.

I keep waiting for some article or interview to come out and damper the enthusiasm, but everything coming out just makes me more excited.

What's more ridiculous...Lunardi putting out a bracketology in Early August or Lunardi's hair piece?

hair piece.

It's his job to put these out. They increase everyone's excitement. Do you really expect ESPN's Bracket guru to work only 2 months of the year??

He uses as much info as he has to extrapolate possible results. This doesn't have a bearing on anything real but they are obviously looked at by fans and recruits. No reason not to embrace the fact that 64 teams make post season and everyone wants to know who those teams are.

I agree that a projected #5 seed and preseason top 25 is good, but I think it's even better that no one knows what to expect out of this team. They will continue to undersell this sqaud.

That said, I think that this is a very conservative spot for LSU that's stemming from simply their potential.

This team is special, gents.

Good thing there's something called "football" to keep us occupied.

When's the last time a team gets 30 wins, rolls through conference play, and wins their conference tourney only to get a measly 5 seed? What a joke
