i think most people will jump to flynn when the argument is much deeper than a gut reaction

JJ has had a better season, statistically, and he's played harder good teams (flynn played no elite teams in the regular season really)

Flynn had a MUCH better OL and more consistent running game

JJ doesn't have the total stats flynn did, but his rate-stats are better, and we haven't thrown the ball as much

our team in 2007 lost 2 regular season games. our team in 2009 has lost 3

both had ankle injuries

JJ doesn't have the cool under fire quality yet..as compared to Flynn.

flynn would have gone over saturday night and kicked miles in the nuts and told him to get the field goal unit on the field. much better coach on the field.

Maybe that's what it is, but the fear to throw, and number of sacks take away from his positive stats enough for Flynn to be the easy call.

flynn also had a risk of being horrible for a half (arky) or throwing a ton of picks (bama)

Flynn didn't hang onto the ball until his receivers were open by 10 yards and take sacks losing 7-12 yards routinely, either.

I think those folks who want to argue that Flynn was a better QB at LSU than Russell are idiots...but at this point I'd take Flynn over Jefferson, and that's knowing how much I like JJ and think he'll be a great one. In most cases, I'll take a solid 5th year senior over a 19 year old true freshman, unless that true freshman is some phenom. Jefferson, for all his positives, is not that...yet.

How many sacks did they each take?

What was the offensive ranking of each team?

I give the nod to flynn at this point. I want to see what JJ can do under a different OC before making any more judgements on him. I think he has great potential, just hasn't found it yet.

Completely ridiculous question at this point. Flynn is/was exactly what LSU needed. Smart and able to get the ball to the playmakers. Maybe down the road this answer changes, but as of now, Jefferson cant be compared to Flynn.

JJ his Sr year will make Flynns 07 numbers look pedestrian.

i know you dont understand the game outside of stats (your mancrush on KW) but there are things called "intangibles" you need to account for as well. stats only paint part of the picture.

JJs high sack # does somewhat even up the INT advantage
