James Coley-Georgia (great recruiter, but no NOLA ties)

Michael Smith-Arkansas (says he just got a hefty raise so potentially a hard pull)

Keith Williams-Nebraska (CJ protege, solid recruiter, not great)

David Johnson-Memphis (feels he's the early leader)

David Johnson

Worked a camp with him one time. Nice guy and seemed like a good, no-nonsense coach. When he wasn't coaching, he was pretty funny. Talked shite about the players he thought were bad

He has multiple mistypes in the slideshow, so it looks like he slapped it together in a hurry

What about Wendell Davis?

Former LSU Tiger and 1st round draft pick to the Chicago Bears. I don't know the extent of his ties and recruiting, but he's from Shreveport, LA and had coached wide receivers for Palo Alto High School, the San Francisco 49ers, and now Columbia University.

Sounds like a shitty quality in a coach

Here's his Memphis Bio: LINK

His resume is better than I thought it was, and I was already on board with him.

What you do is hire Johnson as the running backs coach, since that's what he did at Tulane (he put Orleans Darkwa into the NFL, which is no mean feat), and then you get Coley or Smith for the WR's coach job.

If you can get either one, because Georgia and Arkansas aren't letting those guys go too easy.

Or you hire Johnson as the WR's coach and then let Canada grab Andre Powell away from Pittsburgh to coach RB's and special teams. Powell's pretty good, and he just took Todd Sibley and A.J. Davis at Pitt which is a hell of a lot better haul at RB than we've taken since we got Guice and Brossette two years ago.

Johnson seems perfect.

We need Louisiana ties for both I think. Next year is critical in the state.

Maybe for running back coach but I don't think he would replace craig as WR coach
