I know it's completely irrelevant, but was that just a massive troll job between him and his agent and the so called guys in the know on TD? Or was there really something about to go down?

Just curious

2015 I believe there was smoke.

2016 LSU was used to get a raise from FSU.

No. Jimbo was coming year before last. He likely wasn't coming and used it as a payday with FSU last year however. And really, after the fiasco before the A&M game, I can't blame him.

No top level coach is going to leave a great situation for one in which they run off a coach who averaged 10 wins a year.

The LSU job is not a better job for Fisher compared to his FSU situation. He will use you for leverage but he was never leaving.

If we wanted Jimbo, it was after 2015 season. That was our chance

2015: Jimbo was never coming to LSU. He was approached off-the-record and told LSU no immediately.

Right now, why would Fisher leave a conference for the SEC west and have to play Bama & Flarda every year? When he can get more money to whup on nc state, Clemson, wake, et al?

Jimbo wanted to come, was never offered the job. A lsu booster was contacted who is very good friends with jimbo to ask if he was interested, but jimbo was never offered the job, or contacted beyond that.

Alleva got played by Fisher and Hermans agents. I heard Jindal wouldn't approve the buyout with "perceived" state money when they were already bitching about cutting higher ed in the upcoming session

Jimbo was NEVER coming to LSU.

He has a boatload of talent there in Tallahassee, a totally compliant BoS, a much easier conference to play in, a devoted fan base, a strong recruiting network, is currently the "top dog" program in Florida.

You wanted a new coach to beat Alabam and Jimbo just showed he couldn't do with the number 3 raling talent so he should be out of conversation

Amen, but you cant tell that to the clowns here.

Jimbo would have been a fool to leave Florida State for LSU.

LSU rejected Jimbo in 2005. Why would he be in a hurry to get to BR?
