History repeats itself as we all witnessed last night after LSU trampled another ACC team in Atlanta with a rather inexperienced quarterback under center. We all know the Flynn story and how he went on from his Peach Bowl performance and won a National Championship. How does Flynn's performance compare to Jefferson's? Will history repeat itself again with JJ or will Mr. Sheppard have something to say about that? It is going to be a long summer.

PS: Im not necessarily talking about stats and numbers here because an LSU quarterback doesn't need to have gaudy Texas Tech like numbers he just needs to have that "swagger."

Well I seriously doubt Lee will come back to take the starting spot, later becoming the #1 overall pick. You have to be more impressed with Jefferson seeing as how that was Flynn's third year at LSU, whereas this is JJ's first. Also, Flynn had a national championship caliber team he was playing, whereas JJ had, well, a team that got blown out on senior day.

Flynn's performance was better.

then again, it was his 3rd year in the program i believe.

I would say Flynn & JJ performances were pretty comparable.

I was just mentioning a difference in how their careers will go. Flynn's breakout game was his last game until 2007, whereas JJ more than likely will be the starter in the Spring.

It may be tough for him to beat out JL for the starting spot once he fully recovers from his injury. You cant lose the starting spot due to an injury plus JL has the experience factor on JJ and a better arm. I think they split duties with JL being the starter and JJ coming in performing the Perriloux running QB role once JL is healthy again. But alot is going to depend on what they do in spring camp.

he's already lost his starting spot and it wasn't just due to an injury

With the way Jefferson played and with Shepherd coming in I would think that JL is going to transfer. Maybe he can follow Peveto to NSU. He could have a chance to be really good at that level.

You've got a pretty poor read of the situation, IMO.

I agree. And, if there is no holding call on the Lafell bomb, it would be even more comparable.

doubtful...next year with JJ first, JL second and RS with a selection of plays will be a good lineup.

I agree too.. Lee will likley not start another game as a Tiger unless JJ goes down with an injury. If RS learns the playbook well enough before the 09 season starts.. he will back-up JJ and not Lee. Spring practice will be interesting.

No way, have you seen the stats. 16 of 25 is not setting the world on fire. JJ played in 3 games and lost 2 of them. JL was 7 wins 4 losses which is better.

(wheres BT when you need him? somebody has to play that role.)
