Thoughts on this guy as LSU's qb, Risher said he badly underachieved at Lsu. Could have been a great one

I liked the guy a lot. Was QB around the time I started watching LSU.

A co-worker of mine has a son who plays on a middle school football team with Wickersham's boy in Nola...my co-worker says Wickersham's kid plays qb and linebacker, is the biggest kid on the team, and runs like a "deer being chased by a pack of dogs". Says he's easily the best player on the field. I think he's moving onto the high school level next year in the Nola Catholic league, so he definitely will be one to keep an eye on, and hopefully turns into a Tiger.

Very good Tiger QB... The knock on him was that he seem to throw to a spot on the field instead of to the receiver(if that makes any sense).

Had one of the strongest arms I've seen at LSU. I remember that LSU had a reunion get together for ex players in the 80's and they had a QB competition in which the QB's would throw at stationary and moving targets. Wickersham dented the aluminum target at 30 yards. I wish they would do something like that again. It was a lot of fun.

From what I remember he was one of the best at LSU "from the neck down" but made bad decisions with the ball at times.

He was s pretty good qb. Had Hilliard and James in the backfield. The 83 team had a great offense. Just poor coaching and zero defense......

I'll take that challenge.

1. Tommy Hodson
2. JaMarcus Russell
3. Bert Jones
4. Rohan Davey
5. Zach Mettenberger
6. Matt Mauck
7. Herb Tyler
8. Y. A. Tittle
9. Matt Flynn
10. Jeff Wickersham
11. Warren Rabb
12. David Woodley

(I reserve the right to make small adjustments to the order).

Care to name someone who would knock Wickersham out of that list?

I never saw someone overthrow his receivers as often as this guy. I have no idea how much he actually did it, but it seemed like every other throw.

Steve Spurrier's Fun N Gun made this concept work... It was just that the receivers were always in the right spot.

Is there a reason Mettenberger is getting no love in the top 12? I know only here for two years, but the guy was good
