Couldn't he win the job, since we have a new pro-style OC?

He was the main reason we won at Florida this season.

He led the way on the last drive against Tenn and then JJ was inserted near the goal line.

His 47yard pass against Bama on 3rd down after JJ got hurt, allow us to keep the ball away from the opponent and win the game.

If he decides to stay at LSU, which he probably will, it wouldn't surprise me if he is the main man at QB next year!

Call me crazy but next year I see the depth chart as

1. Mett
2. Jarrett Lee
3. JJ

It's possible since all quarterbacks will have to learn the new system, but the advantage that he and JJ had of being in the system longer than Mett is gone, so who knows what will really happen

What makes you think he is staying? Transferring might end up being the best choice that he could make. If he couldn't beat out Jefferson this year, then who is to say that he will beat out Jefferson and Mett next year? I like the guy, but third string is not the best place to be if he wants to get drafted.

If he learns not to throw off his back foot, leans not to throw up when nothing there, and learns to not be scared of getting hit, then sure he has a shot.

Of course if jj learns to read defenses and throw accurately he will be ok to.

I doubt it. He played pretty well, but his playing time dropped off down the stretch. It's hard to imagine him jumping back into the competition, especially with Mett coming in. I don't see him beating out JJ when he wasn't starting while JJ was struggling last year.

Jarrett Lee was needed during the season, and played huge roles in the Tennessee, Florida, and the last pass of the Alabama game.

Without him, the season would have lost much of its shine.

But, I'm afraid if we need him this year, we will not meet expectations. If he wants to be part of a possible championship team and get his degree, he will have overcome his early struggles to finish a winner.

If he really has aspirations of playing at the next level, he should get to a I-AA school and show that he can have composure in the pocket, and improve his body and foot work from bad to acceptable. His arm is fine.

Yep, season very well could have been 9-4 without Lee.

Sorry to say Jarrett Lee is just a thrower and not a passer. He constantly throws off his back foot backing away. Jefferson on the other had will stay in the pocket and take a hit while delivering the ball. Sometimes he stays too long but he is apparently fearless. Not so with Lee. His mechanics are poor. I cannot remember a time when he stepped into a throw.

Isn't that the kind of thing that a good QB coach like Krag is supposed to clean up, and the kind of coaching he hasn't had at LSU?

The only time Jarrett Lee has success is when he is throwing the ball on every down, i.e. in the last series of the game (Tennessee, Florida). When he has to mix the pass with the run, which a QB absolutely has to do, Lee is mediocre at best. Jordan Jefferson is the better QB of the two, but I think we are all counting on Zach Mettenberger to be the best of the three QBs.

I'll say this about Lee that I won't about Jefferson: Lee is terrific in clutch situations, and if we are down by four with three minutes to go in the game, I choose Lee over Jeff. Any other time? Jeff over Lee.
