With that, his speed gets the proverbial checkmark.

Dude's gonna be a stud.

That's slow for him IMO.
I might flip him and Peppers now for safety

You can, but NFL GMs won't. Peppers is a tweener that will be drafted much later than Adams.

That just goes to show how good Duke was for us this year. Man ran a 4.59. Crazy fast. Both he and Adams will be studs bc they aren't liability in pass coverage

Buddha Baker is a little small but can hit a s tackle. He ran a 4.46.
GMs know that Peppers is like a Cam Chancellor but faster.
He isn't a LB on nobody's draft board.
Josh Jones is a very good prospect that is bigger and faster than Adams. I love Adams, but if I'm a GM withy he depth out there I'm really looking at later choices for LBs and DBs this draft. Some of these guys are first round picks in last years drzft and they will be 3rd or 4th this year. That's the issue this year.

I rather have a pure safety and field general in Adams rather than a guy that played average multiple positions.

Will Jamal serve better playing SS or FS in the NFL? Part of me wants to say he would be a better FS because of his coverage skills

His coverage skills are pretty much the only knock on him. I see him as a SS that can come up in the box, play the flats and cover TEs

This. Obviously depends on defensive scheme, but he should thrive as SS that can come up in run support and cover TEs and the flats. He has range, but not the Hooker/Earl Thomas range that teams are looking for as a FS. Adams will be a stud.

The forty really does not mean as much as you seem to think it does. Also, a 4.56 from a guy like Adams is just fine. Peppers doesn't have a position in the NFL but sure, take him over Adams because of his forty time.
