Is he projected as a safety or corner?

he will be out of the league in 2-3 years. Not good enough to play corner and not an elite safety either. Good luck to him

He also recorded a 6.86 in the three-cone drill, 4.00 in the 20 yard shuttle, and 11.53 in the 60 yard shuttle, all of which were towards the top of this class.

He also started for 4 years at DBU... so, yeah.

He's pretty damn versatile and has a good understanding of several roles and has the hip flex to be fluid and athletic enough to play in the league. 4.6 gets it done.

This means his ability to change direction is great, but he lacks straight-line speed.

Sounds perfect for a slot corner, as he is projected by most scouts.

Joe Haden ran a 4.57.

Jalen has the hips, athleticism, size, strength, and ball skills to be a fine safety or slot corner in the league.

I'll take that bet! Three years ago I was in his corner when many were saying he wasn't good enough. I still say he's a can't miss pro. I never saw anyone run past him. He was easily one of the top two corners at LSU every year he was here.

A lot of goofballs thought Rashard and Toliver were better, but the truth is that he moved to safety because he could. Dude's a player. You and the NFL are about to find out.

Comparing joe Haden with jalen mills is silly. Jalen struggles in coverage. We tried him all over the field cuz he couldn't maintain a position as a CB. People with their LSU goggles on think he will be great. He was a pretty good player here. But he wasn't great. Let the hate begin.

Dak Prescott planted his face in the ground with a stiff arm two years ago and went 75 yards for a TD. I was at the game. He got beat in coverage numerous times. His best shot is at safety. He is a physical player. I will give him that but he gets beat in man to man coverage

I think his points were that judging a player solely on his 40 is silly and that one can still be an elite cb with a 4.6

Rich Sherman ran a 4.6 and josh Normans 40 was even slower. He'll be just fine. That injury was a pretty good setback tho.

The NFL scouts have pretty unanimously said his best position is at corner.

I compared their speed to prove you don't need to be a 4.4 guy to be a good DB in the league. They play different positions back there, but Jalen is also a good bit bigger and longer.

Point is, he'll be fine with that speed, especially with his size, strength, and athleticism. He's a solid football player.

Josh Norman ran a 4.66 at the combine. Not saying he's JN, but don't get caught up with 40s.

This.

And I don't think he'll be elite, but he'll be a solid role player in the defensive backfield for years.

Josh Norman ran an even slower 4.6. People just need to expand their football knowledge past middle school level.
