There's no way that guy continues to struggle with his average. He's had some horrible luck this year (baseball gods retribution for the hot girlfriend??). His outs have been absolutely crushed right at people. Late in the year, when we need it most those will start falling

Im just happy that he is getting on base still. There is a lot to be said about how much he has gotten better at taking pitches and getting walked.

Time for Laird to lead off? He has got my vote.

I'd be cool with Laird leading off, but I have no problem with him where he has been playing either. I have zero complaints about the lineup right now. I think Coach is pushing a lot of people into the lineup and most have been very solid. You never know when we will have someone go down and we have had a lot of batters get prepared if they are called upon to be full time players.

His OBP is over .400. He has more walks than anyone on the team. Those hard shots will eventually find holes.

Jones shows sings of coming out of his hitting funk. His defense is spectacular, aside from the one boo-boo yesterday.

Ross's defense is spectacular.

as a lead off average does not matter as much as on base %, every coach wants a guy that will give the team the most looks at lead off!

Don't worry about JJ batting average. It'll come around. His fielding makes up for it.Real solid in the field.Give him a break.

I don't have anything against Jones but don't tell me his hitting has not been a big disappointment.
He was a highly recruited player and supposed to be a high draft pick so he should be hitting better than .250 last year and .215 this year so far. Maybe he will pick it up maybe not I sure hope so because if he just starts hitting .300 this team will be even more deadly at the plate.
