With purple/gold glasses off, I can't tell. I think the teams are equal and a series could go either way.

Just curious what you guys think.

I think we did today, but it would be interesting to see our best pitchers go at it

Both teams could beat anyone in the country. Today's game was a piecemeal of pitching. No way to tell what would happen on a true 3 game series. I hope we find out in Omaha. I see the Tigers winning no matter what.

I thought Vandy had the more aggressive team. Possibly better hitting team. But we have better pitching and defense. It's a good matchup. I'd give the edge to LSU if we both had our ace's on the mound.

It's a stupid question because neither team threw one of its top pitchers.

Both teams are very good. If we end up in a 3 series game against Vandy at the end, it could go either way.

We beat them without some key players. So I would say we did.

Vandy looked better, but if our first 5 batters would have shown up, who knows. Getting the "W" is all that counts, not style points..

Outside of Miller's phenomenal innings, I thought LSU looked like the better team today.

If you remove his innings, which could largely be attributed to us never seeing him on the mound, LSU seemed like the better team during the innings he wasn't on the mound. JMO. YMMV. IDGAF. SIAP. GFY.

the only discernible differences I saw

Vandy was better at putting consistent pressure on the pitcher inning to inning

LSU was better at fielding

Johnny wholestaff looked pretty good today. I honestly thought we'd hammer their side arm guy. We usually do. But he held us in check. LSU winning=better team

We won, so we're better. That's the only metric that counts.

LSU

LSU didn't throw to 1st with no one covering the base.

Yup, he is an excellent closer who was also getting the biggest strike zone ever until one missed call in the winning inning.

It really was a typical LSU game in any damn sports it seems: our defense vs their offense.

I don't doubt it at all with the stuff I saw him throw today.

But, I think had we seen him once or twice in a three game series this year, we might have done a little bit better.

I have sung Miller's praise in quite a number of threads today.
