LSU's been beaten down in several CWS in recent memory. I think there was a 14-2 elimination game against South Carolina in the early 2000s that I'm really reminded of.

Edited. I remember 28 to 2 on Saturday. Then LSU won Sunday to win SEC. And beat them for the natty later that year

Even Skip's teams got bombed a few times in the postseason. Cal St Fullerton in 1994 in Omaha, Rice at home in the regionals in 1995. It happens.
