Lowering capacity wouldn't hurt at all. The box is never 100 percent full. This would be a great luxury like ell said.

it's 100% sold out most of the time, though, and that's all the AD cares about

I agree with OP. P&G chair backs from foul pole to foul poll needs to be done.

Post started out ok, chair backs down the lines would be a good thing, but then...what the hell? Gotta love our retarded bitching fan base
You are blind if you can't see what's going on around the SEC and even the nation in terms of what college ballparks have to offer fans.

The Box was the best park out there in 2009. But that's also when Baum was built. Since then, we ARE falling behind. Our only 2 "big" renovations have been the extension of the suits and the field turf. It's been 7 years since it was built. Same seats. Same batter's eye. Same concourse.

It's not retarded bitching. It's the necessary expectation to remain the best for a fan base that deserves it more than any other.

Is this really what you want to compare Alex box to?

They need to open up CF like MSU so people can bring their own chairs and BBQ pits

I don't see the point to be honest. I think some people want them as a 'keeping up with the Joneses' type deal.

We are the Joneses.

i agree, outside of the grandstand area the box is very ordinary, and below the standard of other SEC baseball stadiums

Baum was built many years before the new Box. I think you mean SC's park. They opened the same year as we did.

You're right. Baum was built in 1996. That's what I was thinking... Carolina stadium. It was from a thread a few weeks ago.

But Baum had a recent reno. 2006. So many believe the Box was never on top.

Honestly I'm in the camp that was overall underwhelmed with the new box. It never really was far and away better than what else was out there. Aesthetically, it's worse than Baum, SC's park, and Blue Bell

The homeplate main entrance is great, but the interior of the box is full of cheap finishes and cut corners.

It also lacks any of the family/student fan experiences that are pretty much the norm in MiLB and College parks across the country at this point. It is an incredibly ordinary venue other than the number of people in it.

I agree. But don't get me wrong. It has some great things to it. Underneath is amazing. The training rooms, offices, locker rooms. Top notch. Champions club. Hall of Fame. The Suites. Even better.

That statement isn't accurate in so many ways.

Just wanted to check in and remind folks that it's a travesty that we are robbing students of the experience associated with a bern.
