It's hysterical how mid-week, the excuses always come pouring in

I believe it's a way for folks to rationalize it. Those who can't stand the thought of losing a good man as the HC at LSU. But if you really want to remind yourselves why Miles' job is in jeopardy, do us all a favor and go watch any of the last 3 games. Try to find 17-0 from Arkansas last year as well. Remember how frustrated you were watching these games. The penalties, the archaic offense, no emotion from the HC after multiple penalties in one drive, no passion, no "adjustments" working, etc.
Why does it matter that some predicted 8-4? Ever think that this team has too much talent to be 9-3 or 8-4 and the reason that prediction was made is due to folks lack of trust in the staff? Think anyone would predict this team at 8-4 if Jimbo Fisher were the HC?
Seriously, I get that you're trying to cope. But take your bullshite somewhere else. It's not the fans fault, and it certainly isn't due to posters on this site (what a thread). It's losing and losing embarrassingly. That's it. LSU fans are just spoiled enough to demand excellence, and that's a good thing. Do yourselves a favor and remember that this isn't the 90s. LSU is considered a powerhouse program and deserves a powerhouse coach. Miles was that once, but is no longer.
So again, do yourselves a favor and go watch one of these games to remind yourselves. Then try to tell me you actually believe this team will turn it around with this staff at the helm.

We demand excellence - that's a given.
What happens, however, when we shite the bed and bring in someone who's ceiling is 10W?
I'm not Miles apologist and it's very clear there needs to be a change, but wouldn't a guy who has been there before and has (for the most part) admitted his offense sucks be a better fit than bringing in someone else on the hopes that he'll be successful?
It's a damned if you do damned if you don't sicheeation.

I don't disagree and it very well could happen. But I do not believe Miles' ceiling is any higher than that either, moving forward unless he has some epiphany over night in terms of his philosophy.

Miles new ceiling post 1/9/12 is probably 10 wins, he might sneak out 11 every once and a while but the person that racked up a majority of his wins is not the same coach anymore.

Perhaps I'm in the minority, but my frustration in the last few games has been aimed at the effort from the players. I can't remember a stretch where players have turned in such piss-poor effort or simply quit. At some point you've got to stop all the excuses for your bad play as an individual, and you've got to have some pride in yourself. The players need to worry about what they can control and that is their individual effort. The team may lose by 40, but there is no excuse for getting your arse whipped by the player lined up across from you every damn play.
Now with that said, I recognize the staff has failed at getting the team out of their funk, and they have to answer for those failures.

I agree with all that and think the problems with this team fall on staff and players. They looked defeated. But I'm not in the locker room or at practice, so who knows. All I know is I'd like to see Miles yell at someone when they hold for the second or third time in one drive. Someone has to light a fire in them.

every think that they're picked 8-4 because Les is the coach?

That's exactly what I said

I know I just wanted to say it in a different way.

Have to say I agree, by Wednesday or Thursday Les has won our hearts back and we feel sorry for him. For me it's not even the score in the last 3 games, it's the ineptness of the team in all 3 phases. We don't get plays in soon enough on either side of the ball, we commit terribly undisciplined penalties, our offense has 0 moxy and looks confused 90% of the time. Worst part is when I look at our offense and see the talent that constantly underperformed. Just not the well-oiled machine we should be this late in the season.

He's too busy counting his money, being his players friend and too good of a "family man" to yell at this players when they constantly screw up over and over.

Do you are anyone else on this board really, really, really believe that Miles can turn this train wreck around????? Really??? Stop, Miles, and Miles alone is responsible for the poor arse product we have put on the field the last three years and if can't see that you have no business writing about LSU football on this or any other board

I mean...that's pretty much what we have now, isn't it? Outside of 1 year?
