It's amazing what pass protection can do for a pro-style QB

Last year ... "Mett has no pocket-presence! Captain check-down and overthrows!"
This year ... "Mett is the best qb ever!"
Fwiw I think he's always been a great qb when he has any kind of time to make a decision and step into a throw. Last year's O-line protection was atrocious and it showed.
Not to mention our receivers were finally consistent in pass catching last night.
As for most years, O-line IS the make-or-break position that determines how good of a year we have, not as much QB as some might think.

For god sakes, we had Jordan Jefferson in 2011 and still went undefeated in the regular season because our O-line and running game was badazz and we just ran over everybody.
Alabama was the only team able to match up with us that year and it wasn't close.
