Both, the gumps coach and Clemson coaches are "speechless " on mark richt being fired. They, along with others also were shocked about miles' near miss. Dabo says "families and lives and hometowns" involved". Like the sky falls on the lives of these coaches. It shows how out of touch they are with regular people. Generational wealth will heal everything except health. Pisses me off! Quit crying, buy a new mansion in a new town for Christ sake

Honestly, when they get asked what can they say? They have to spin it to other aspects like that and graduating players type stuff, developing men, etc.

"oh Yeah, Richt, he hasn't won a SEC Championship in 10 years, can't even get to Atlanta with Mizzou, and Fla and Tennessee being down...yeah it was time."

Nick Saban criticized Alabama for firing Mike Shula before he accepted the job.

Did you see Les Miles and John Chavis before last night's game? Nothing but love and respect for each other.

There is a brotherhood connection between coaches. No credence should ever be given to a coach's opinion regarding whether another coach should keep or lose his job.

Good point la BR4 but I'm saying all the whining about how hard it is on their family, relocation and the like. Give me a suitcase of hundreds- I'll move anywhere! U no?

Is your job status based on the performance of 18-22 year olds?

Are you charged with turning boys into productive men?

Most coaches are shitty parents, really shitty. They dont care about their own kids that much.

Magildachuncks. Actually yes. My job is in education. Hell my evaluation hinges on a bunch of kids one just one day! If they have a bad day- I'm In a bind! It's life

I hear ya, I could find new digs and new town with that money. It's not that tough..at all. Pride is the only thing that is hurt.

Thought you were talking about Saban talking about 9 wins.

quote:

Saban said. "I think when you win nine games, that's a pretty good season."

That's just bullshite.

Unless you sleep with one of the kids, it's extremely rare a teacher will get let go.

Family of educators here.

With what these guys are getting paid, to hell with em. You don't win, you get out. Very hypocritical if you ask me.

Besides, Georgia kept richt around for a long time because he was a "good guy". When has he not under performed?

Magilachunks. U are correct. I may not get let go but u get two bad Evaluations and you are screwed. I've always been highly successful I'm just saying nobody would feel sorry for me-and they shouldn't either. Pretty easy to retire, get re hired, relocate, etc if you are let go from a major program. Give me a break

Yeah, people were acting as if Miles would have been left destitute if he was fired.

These guys know all know, and generally like each other. They have more in common with other coaches than they do with the fans of the schools they represent. They try to beat the other guy on Saturday, but they are a fraternity and will stick up for on another. Nothing surprising about that.

Are y'all pissed that Saban didn't crack up laughing about Richt or say "Who gives a shite? frick him" if he was asked about Miles?

Jesus Christ, it's called being empathetic. Or maybe just polite. It's something that normal people do in this thing we call "the real world" unless we honestly don't like an a-hole.
