I like him.... I always have... Sure he has had some flubs now and then... But hey he has made some of the greatest calls in the history of LSU sports...

And of course, punk losers just look for something to complain about AND could not do any better job.

My point is that a great play by play guy does not have to have school ties. Larry Munson went to Minnesota State. Everybody keeps saying he should have LSU ties. A little research would show that many top guys do not work for their alma mater.

pretty sure Brando makes millions, no chance he'll give that up to do radio at LSU (or anywhere) for way, way less money.

However, he loves Louisiana and he's at an age where returning home may be an attractive option.

He lives in Shreveport so he is "home" unless you're on of those guys that thinks Shreveport is in Texas.

I believe he use to do the pre-game color radio broadcast for the LSU football games when Ferguson and Hill were doing the play by play.

He's been living in Shreveport since he left ESPN in the mid 90's. Shreveport is his hometown and he's too entrenched in this city to leave at this point in his life IMO.

Hawthorne is 71. He took the job in his 30's.

Brando is 59, so he would have a decade at the most.

How old is Rollins? Isn't he older than Brando? I actually like ole Lyn.

He was on a local sports radio show about a month ago in Shreveport. He was announcing that his radio show would be ending. They asked him if the reason was because he was taking over the LSU job. He said absolutely not. He was too old, too objective, blah, blah, blah. That ship had sailed. He said he was getting older and his responsibilities with FOX was increasingly making it too hard to do a radio show.

I'm actually old enough to remember Ferguson. He was outstanding in a time before most and now all games are on TV. I don't care really because it is a moot point for me. I don't see Brando taking the job.

this, it would be the tim brando show with LSU as a side note

This. He is so full of himself, where he's been, who he was with, what he's been doing that he would fit a few game notes into the broadcast about himself. I didn't listen to him on Sirius and am glad he's leaving.
