He is wrapping up his Sirius radio show. And he is stepping down from the CBS studio show in New York for college football. I'm just saying....

:wtf?

"Stepping down" from his CBS Sports-related duties? He hasn't worked for CBS in almost a year now, been under contract with Fox since last June.

Tim Brando’s 2014 career gamble of leaving CBS Sports, which led to his current position at Fox Sports, has worked out so well that he’s giving up his Sirius XM radio show after Thursday’s broadcast.

quote:

Brando, who recently added golf to his schedule of football and basketball play-by-play chores for Fox, said this will be the final week of his radio show that began on Sporting News Radio and Yahoo! Sports Radio before moving to Sirius XM’s College Sports Nation channel in 2013.
“Retiring the show is something I felt I needed to do,” Brando said. “The success at Fox in general is the primary reason. It’s been 14 years, and I think it’s time to concentrate on what I feel I’m best at and have one full-time job instead of two.”

I'm not his biggest fan, but I'm certain he knows the difference between a foul ball and a defensive back.

I imagine he currently gets paid substantially more than what LSU would offer.

Big ego yes but he would be a homerun hire. He's excellent in game as a broadcaster and analysis

No chance he's the voice of the Tigers, he stepped down from CBS June 2014... He has been play by play for fox sports on college football, college basketball since.. His radio show is ending on Thursday because his fox obligations are expanding into golf and pro football...

This would be a weird step back for him, regardless of his ties to the state.

I wouldn't mind Brando . An already recognized voice many are familiar with. Doubt LSU could meet his salary expectations.

Brando would be a John Ferguson type hire. Big presence, big voice, and probably very popular among fans.

But.... it's not gonna happen. I expect some guy like Gordy Rush to get the job, unfortunately.

TV play by play =/= radio play by play

why would Brando want to work that hard? TV is where you want to be

Yeah I have a hard time envisioning Tim Brando sitting in Alex Box on a Tuesday in April to call LSU-Alcorn State

His ego is far too big to do play by play on the radio.

There's some big names applying for the job... This I know. There's a difference between color guys, and play by play guys. Gordy is not even applying.
