Look, Alleva doesn't look good, but nothing happens in a vacuum. I suspect there is more to this than just Alleva. He is not the only with a say on matters such as this.

LSU has screwed up on finding and retaining coaches that pre dates Alleva. Mark Emret was the only one who did this right. I think Bob Broadhead ran into shenanigans in his time at LSU. That is not to say that he was pure, but it us in LSU's nature to make a mockery of this process.

Alleva is the mouth and face of this athletic program. How he handles this is his responsibility. It was not handled in a professional way. This isn't his first school to screw up with either.

Maybe we should just hire this guy?

Been covered. Power play by King Alexander so he could appear "poor" in the event the state tried to slash his budget so they raised taxes instead of going after his bank accounts. Hard to claim "poor" when the public is not smart enough to realize LSU did not pay any of the money for any of the coaches.

So he made a power play so he would not look bad when he begged for tax increases instead of budget cuts.

All I know is, that in the movies, when they try to take out the man and it fails, heads roll.

Prove it with sources. I'm assuming you're referring to Scott McKay article in The Hayride.

That is why if your fanhood dates back twenty years or more you knew this clown show was the rule not the exception. It only surprised younger fans. LSU football is always going to involve drama. It's the nature of the state, its people and the atmosphere in Louisiana in general.

It's not ALL Alleva. Boosters had a role.

But, that's Alleva's job. He needs to be able to successfully navigate the waters and lead this type of move. You can't be led down a path without being committed to the move...and allow things to fall apart because you miss on your target.

You certainly don't let the info go public and hurt the program.

Didn't Spurrier really want the LSU job after Bill Arnsparger left in 1986/87 but politics got involved and that's how Mike Archer got promoted to HC?

And how about telling King to grow a pair. Guy couldn't hold Mark Emmert's jock.

Lsu pays a portion of the coaches salary plus they are representing the university so LSU still has a say in hiring/firing of coaches

Who knows? But Alleva and his boss should be held accountable - and fired. F. King is horrible and worse for LSU than Alleva in my opinion.
