Is there anything that can be done to improve the PMAC?

Took the boy to the game on Saturday. Overall a nice time, but I was frustrated to see that the concourses and restroom facilities are still nothing short of lame.

I went to hundreds of basketball games during my time at LSU (including law school). I graduated in that building twice. I really do love it and see it as an iconic structure. But it's sorely lacking in modern amenities.

Is it conceivable that some sore of "wings" could be branched off the concourse on the east and west sides where they could put large restrooms and concessions? Surely there are people smarter than me who can figure this out.

They changed the layout of the concession lines and essentially formed one long line leading to two cashiers. I stood in line for 15 minutes until I gave up because I was missing so much of the game.

Whoever came up with that idea is an idiot.

LSU's fan experience is awful, especially considering Joe calls us "the best fans in the world"

As of last season in TS, they still had 1990's CRT TV's in the concourses, awful outdated bathrooms, terrible overpriced concessions...the pmac is awful, cramped uncomfortable seats, concourses are tiny, terrible bathrooms and concession lines.

I've yet to see how the "best fans in the world" are treated as such. I guess Joe counts raising ticket prices as treating us well.

I know little/nothing about construction, and used to think we were pretty much limited with what we had in terms of the PMAC. Then I followed the renovations that were done at UCLA on Pauley Pavillion.

They were facing a lot of the same issues that people complain about with the PMAC (narrow/outdated concourses, no luxury seating, lack of video boards, etc.). It cost them 130 mill and they had to play one season off of campus, but they completed transformed that place. It's beautiful.

You really wanted to let people know you went to law school, didn't you?

That tidbit served absolutely no purpose in your post.

And when the stadium is full they are fuzzy and unwatchable.

They work fine with NOBODY in the stands

The lines at concessions stands would be a lot better if they had people who can work simple math. I was at the game Saturday and ordered a bottled water, nachos and a hot dog. It was $11 and she had to use her phone calculator. I gave her a $20 bill and she had to use it again to see she needed to give me $9 back.

This is why the lines get so long.

Move the media section as far as possible from the court.
Sell beer.

PMAC would be perfect with those two extremely unlikely changes.

Actually no, jackass. It was more intended to communicate that I spent a lot of years (7) going to games in that building as a student.

I carry zero pride associated with what I do for a living. It is a means to an end. There are about 10 times too many lawyers, and all of the schools should be closed.

I think they sould lower the playing floor about 6 feet. this would allow for bleacher that the student could stand on (ala Cameron indoor stadium)
also this would allow them to make some club level seating in the 200 section.
as far as the concourses, I guess they could widen them outward toward the ramps? I don't know if that's structurally possible or not.
But what the other poster said, if you had people working that could add and subtract, that would help with the lines. I got a $3.00 popcorn and a $4.00 drink and handed the girl a $20. she had to use the calculator on her phone to give me $13.00 back

Not enough men's restrooms. They put port-a-podies outside one of the PMAC doors with fences around them but hardly anybody knows about them.

Although I agree the PMAC is dated, they spent tens of millions on the PMAC a few years ago. To really fix things, it would cost over a hundred million. Where the heck do you think LSU will get that kind of scratch in the near term?
The recent changes were paid for using one of the Football stadium expansions. I just don't see the sustained financial support needed for that kind of investment coming anytime soon. The facility is used by Men's basketball, Women's Basketball, volleyball, and Gymnastics. I don't see any of those sports generating anything near $100 million.

Attend it, and they will renovate.
