With all of the early departures into the NFL Draft, it seems to me that LSU football is turning into Kentucky basketball in that players come and enter the draft early.

Coach Calipari has always said that it is an advantage in recruiting for his program when players get picked up in the draft.

What say you?

This analogy would work if we consistently had top recruiting classes. Our classes are good, but not consistently the best like Calipari's.

I agree. There is a reason other programs retain top talent more than LSU. It seems like there is something wrong inside the program. Players perception of Miles... player development... risk of injury is the same as other schools. But LSU clearly loses more talent to NFL defections than anyone else...

Last yr was the only yr LSU really lost alot more than any other school and it was a record but other than last yr we don't consistantly lose more than any other program. If you look at the NFL draft as a whole you will see the number of Jr's leaving is happening everywhere around the country not just here and I agree there are a couple headscratchers this yr but it is what it is. Agreed. It's totally LSU and Miles' fault all these Juniors and RS Sophomores are delcaring for the draft across the country

C'mon man!

You have guys like Greg Robinson and Tre' Mason of Auburn and James Wilder, Jr. and Devonta Freeman of FSU playing in the BCSNCG that have already declared

So the player development is so bad that players are good enough to be drafted highly in the NFL?

You do realize that this is a very contradictory statement? If player development was so terrible they wouldn't be able to leave early for the draft in the first place.

Did Jarvis Landry and Beckham look like they weren't developed to you?

So, should we not recruit guys like Fournette, who will almost certainly be 3 year player?
