This is a poll question they are asking on a station I listen to out of Salt Lake City today. Yes, the author of the question is a bitter Raider fan.
Well, if he isn't then who is? Ryan Leaf? Tony Mandarich?

brah you don't understand. just read the Rant more and you'll understand quickly that JR would still be a top 10 pick if he re-entered the draft next year
i'll remember him as a Tiger
i'll remember him as a Tiger

At this point, he is the biggest bust without a doubt.

I thought he was picked a little high myself. Just like Tyson Jackson. I was glad for them, but thought they were a reach for 1 and 3.

Not close.
Who was that lineman out of Nebraska? Forgot his name. He is synonymous with "Draft Bust"
ETA: Brian Bosworth was his name. I suggest some of the younuns remember that name as it will be one of the top three answers to this question.

When you look a the money and productivity, JR is easily the biggest bust in NFL history.

Ryan Leaf, and it's not even close. If you don't believe me or you don't remember, do a google search and read up on some of the things he did. He makes Jamarcus look like a saint by comparison.

I wonder how Aundray Bruce always manages to evade the biggest bust of all time discussions

Who's worse... JR or Ryan Leaf? RYAN LEAF!
ETA some RL info:
ETA some RL info:

However, in the third game of the season, Leaf completed one of fifteen passes for 4 yards and fumbled three times in a loss against the Kansas City Chiefs.[18] He was benched after throwing two touchdown passes and thirteen interceptions in nine games, and replaced by Craig Whelihan.[19] After ten games, Leaf had thrown two more interceptions, passing for a total of 1,289 yards, with a 45.3 percent completion rate and a passer rating of 39

Leaf missed his entire second season because of a shoulder injury discovered during a preseason physical. [21] He was placed on injured reserve but made headlines for getting into a heated shouting match with Chargers general manager Bobby Beathard and another coach.
quote:
Leaf started the first two games of the 2000 season, only to complete less than half of his pass attempts, and throw for five interceptions and one touchdown. When backup Moses Moreno went down with a strained knee ligament, the Chargers gave Leaf more playing time. However, he injured his wrist while throwing an interception in a week four game and did not play again until week eleven.[21] Following more poor performances and injury problems, he was released by the Chargers after the season, with four wins as a starter in three years.

At least Leaf wasn't the #1 pick.

i'd say Leaf is definitely the biggest bust ever... but that doesn't make JR less of a bust. he's busting pretty hard right now. won't make it to Leaf's level, though IMO

Yes it is and you are correct. He was a linebacker.

The main reason JaMarcus isn't the biggest bust is that his career isn't over.

Akili Smith (drafted 3rd overall) was pretty terrible also.

Actually the Chargers gave up more than they would have with the #1 pick.

To move up to the second pick in the draft, the Chargers traded two first-round picks, a second-round pick, reserve linebacker Patrick Sapp and three-time Pro Bowler Eric Metcalf.

yea only time will tell. but, for now, i say he won't touch Leaf's bust status.
there are probably 50 quarterbacks in the NFL i'd rather have starting for my team than JR
