Depends on what type of injuries you are talking about.

A lot of similarities to Dinardo's last team actually. A ton of offseason attrition and injuries in season. I believe we were down to 8 or so healthy offensive linemen at one point, and Craig Nall was out there running routes at WR before they moved Reed late in the season.

It helps. Especially with joint injuries.

The stronger (including less fatigued) the muscles around a joint are the more impact they can take without taking tendons and ligaments to the limit.

No, it doesn't prevent unnatural movement injuries (e.g. rolling up on back of knee, ACL) or high impact injuries.

But a stronger muscle can be the difference between a strain and a tear.

I'd say the best preventative is good luck.

There is good variance in some years, bad variance in others.

I wondered about this as well. May be Les had them in a better condition. I attended the Bama Football camp with my nephew from Houma. He was told that the warmup before practice is exactly the same as Bama's. I'm just gonna tell you, that was a hell of a warmup! I can see why Bama's teams are well conditioned.
