Why do people always do this shite? 3 weeks ago people saying we won't win another game. Now after beating UF bc of a missed extra point and having an amazing comeback against Auburn are people talking about the CFP? Let's enjoy the fight the team has in them the last 2 weeks and worry about the next game. I don't think this team is playoff caliber at this point. Let the season play out and enjoy this young team never quitting and learning to win close games. I thought this was a 9-3 team before the season with losses being to UF, AU, and Bama. I never envisioned them losing to MSU the way they did or lose at home to Troy. They can still achieve 9-3 and hopefully 10-2. I'm taking it one game at a time. Let's see how this team handles success and praise as well as the coaching staff.

This. Sorry about the accidental fat-finger downvote.

Anything is possible. Most Tiger faithful are sweating the Ole Miss game right now. Let's just appreciate the last 2 close victories and look to next week. Looking ahead more than the next game on the schedule does NO good. However, if we do win out there is a good chance LSU will be in the discussion for playoffs. I have never really liked the "body of work" argument. Teams playing at the top of their game at end of season makes more sense. Can't wait for the NCAA to expand the number of playoff teams like every other division. Then LSU would be in serious consideration. Just WIN Baby! Ole Miss game will be another opportunity - and they are a RIVALRY game. Young Tigers better be READY!

I would say its possible. But we’d need some outside help. SEC isnt the dominant conference anymore, so simply winning the SEC isnt a guaranteed playoff spot for a team with 2 ugly losses. A few Pac-12 or ACC teams would have to knock each other off to produce 2 loss champions too.

But we aren’t going into Tuscaloosa and beating Bama

if we win out

If LSU can get over the first two hurdles, beating Ole Miss and (gasp) Alabama on the ROAD, then I would say our chances of a playoff increase tremendously, but even then it's still a long shot. Basically there's no room for error on the part of LSU.

A few Pac-12 or ACC teams

It looks like no Pac-12 team is worthy of a playoff spot this year. In the ACC, only Miami is still unbeaten and their schedule seems to favor remaining unbeaten, with only Notre Dame looking like a serious threat. So they're in.

So I can see a playoff consisting of Miami, the SEC champion, the Big Ten champion, and another team (maybe TCU if they win out, or if not, an at-large SEC or Big 10 team).

Beat Bama and Georgia and don't lose to anyone else, anything's possible.

I doubt we beat Bama though.

Anything can happen. Still have a lot of football to play. One week at a time and who knows they find themselves in the playoffs or a good bowl game.

Wouldn't put Miami in so quickly. They haven't exactly been a dominant unbeaten team and they play Syracuse who gave LSU a tough fight and just upset Clemson, plus ND and Va Tech coming up. Then they'd likely have to play Clemson in the ACC title game.

Win out in convincing fashion and have all other teams with 1-2 losses, and maybe so. But it's a loooooooong shot.

You'd need to be absolutely steamrolling everyone including Bama and Georgia
