How bad was it when the RB coach responsible for going the wrong way on the final play of the game was still around from CLM's staff?
You blame Guice going the wrong way on LM's former RB coach?? Is that what I'm reading?

Agree this an ignorant statement. I think I'll keep a written record of 'Tiger Droppings Fortune Tellers' posts for future reference.

This may be the dumbest post and string of comments that I have seen on TD in a while. Congrats, man. That says a lot.

How is it an ignorant statement when O has literally said he will be as good as his coordinators are?

Dude those weren't his programs! Big big difference in being an interim coach vs running your own program. It's ok for some of us to be a realist about the hire, it was a cheap lazy hire period. If O was hired by any other big six SEC team everyone here would be laughing about what a terrible hire it was. He may turn out to be fabulous and tear the league up but on paper this hire was about as bad as it gets. Him being from the bayou doesn't automatically equate wins at LSU.

What did he accomplish at LSU?

You don't watch LSU football? You missed a guy taking over a 2-2 LSU team that had fired their HC and then fired the OC. A LSU team whose only wins were a 3-point home win over 3-5 in the SEC Mississippi ST and a home win against 1-AA Jacksonville St.

An LSU team that was 4-5 in its last 9 games with blowout losses to Ole Miss and Arkansas. He took that LSU team and went 6-2 including a bowl win. He did that with a TE's coach running the offense and 3 other staff members he had to fire after the season.

Yeah, you should try to catch a game or two next season. It was a hell of a lot more fun to watch LSU games after O took over.

Since the season ended Coach O has signed the #7 recruiting class in the nation, hired the only offensive Broyles Award finalist as OC, the #1 rated recruiter for the 2017 signing class as RB coach and a New Orleans native as WR coach and retained Dave Aranda as DC.

Did you really miss every bit of this? What college football team do you follow since it is obviously not LSU.

It really is hilarious how defensive everyone is of O when he has done nothing of real note at LSU

On the opposite end of the spectrum it's also not fair to negatively judge him on your same basis.

He's 1-1 as the full time HC, crushing the Heisman Trophy winner in the process.

A little peeved because my chest is starting to hurt from laughing at all of your stupid posts. My throat is going dry as well. It's worth it though.

Everything you just said is nice and all, but it doesn't mean he's been a good head coach.

He's made good moves so far, but he hasn't run a program full time since OM, and we all know how that turned out.

I don't see how anyone could have looked at the coaches that were available, know that LSU is a top 10 job and think O was the best hire we could have made. That's just stupid.

Is the RB coach not responsible for the RB's knowing what their assignments are?

If you don't think so, it will be time I have ever heard of such shite.

You're an idiot. That was Guice's fault. Quit trying to pass the blame.

I love Guice as much as anyone, but he fricked that up. Not a RB coach. Idiot.

Big difference, huh? Explain two or three of the differences to me, or don't explain just list a few. I have been asking this for months and no one has ever answered. Step up and tell the board about some of the differences between what a permanent head coach and an interim head coach who wants the job permanently does.

Do it, man !!!!

How bout you let the season at least start before you decide it's going to be awful and the coach is crap. Geez...I'm loving the anticipation and until something happens to change my mind, I'm going to be positive. We have new staff and lots of changes were made. We have a coach who is going to let the other coaches do their jobs. People have been screaming for that. Now, the same people are Nancy Negatives still. Damn.

Well gee let's see ... for starters it's not his players or system. Secondly when it's his program his duties go beyond the playing field in dealing with boosters and media. An interim coach is just that, an interim coach. Not nearly as much pressure or headaches to deal with. How can you not think there is a big difference? Its common fricking knowledge there is a big difference. If there wasn't such a difference don't you think USC would have hired him??
