Is Dwayne Thomas our playmaker on defense?

I was thinking earlier, is Dwayne Thomas really our only playmaker on defense? Effectively our #4 CB is the only guy consistently making big plays.

Despite being the #4 CB he leads all corners in tackles, has 1.5 sacks and 2.5 TFL playing a bit of the blitzing honey badger role, has a pick, a fumble recovery a couple QB hurries and a pass defensed.

We dont have a DLinemen who gets pressure on the QB nor makes many tackles in the backfield. We dont have a LB who flys to the ball making a bunch of tackles (Kwon is just a step below this IMO). We dont have anyone in the secondary who is making consistent big plays except Thomas really.

I believe so... he is Honey Badger lite....in my opinion. That is a major complement from me BTW.

He is the only one who stands out. A bright spot going forward hopefully.

And is anyone else concerned about Rashard Robsinson basically completely disappearing this year?

I mean it seems like he wasn't even playing till I saw him hurt recently. I get that he was suspended for game 1, but the last 3 games, I mean, where has he been?

He and Kwon each have 9 solo tackles to lead the team.

That's nice but only 9 solo tackles in 4 games - or 3 if you say that they only played half of the SHSU and ULM games. That is only 3 solo tackles a game LEADING the team.

Our nickel back has more tackles than our middle linebackers. Think about that!

I agree with much of what you state. However, the first touchdown by the guy he was covering made Thomas look like the short DBs of the Curly Hallman era.

Thomas had no shot at that and White wouldnt have either. The only corner we have who could have possibly even made a play on that was Robinson with his 6'3 frame and athletic ability.

It was honestly a perfectly placed ball and that WR was perfectly boxing out the defender...not much you can do sometimes with perfectly placed passes.

Agreed, but nevertheless, it brought back a bad memory.

Without a doubt...that fumble he chased down in the last minute and change was impressive. He's fast to the ball and very instinctive.

He's not just our CB4... When you say it like that it sounds like he sucks.

He's our starting nickel, which is a very important position now a days and in Chiefs D. And tied for 2nd on the team in tackles. He's a big part of our D.

But to answer your question, no he's not the only playmaker. There's somebody named Kwon Alexander. He's our best player. Surprised so many people either just forget about Kwon or overlook him for some reason or whatever. But Kwon is our best player and is a stud.

And no he's not a notch below that. Kwon is a stud and without him, we would be a lot worse. Kwon does more than anyone else on our D, and way more than you think.

No concerns on that end because that tells us he is locking down his side of the field. So you should be very happy because I can count on one hand how many times QBs have thrown to his side.

` Other teams are scared of him eh? Or do you think they're not passing to his side because they're running up the middle for 300+ yds and no need to pass?
