Is anything less than 6-1 a disappointment now?

After seeing the way this team is capable of playing, would anything less than 6-1 be considered a disappointment at this point?

so you are already figuring in a loss to Alabama! You must think run the table.

The only disappointment would have been Miles and Cameron continuing to ruin this season. We are playing with house money now, and any expectations for this season are now pretty much gone. Because of this, we can sit back and just enjoy college football. Fun college football and if we win, that's awesome as well.

I think this team wins 9 games, with or without Les. The talent is still there and from what I saw last night the players are as well. They had more energy last night and a few new plays but that is it.

I'm being serious though. You saw the team last night. You know the remaining schedule. Would you be disappointed with more than 1 loss the rest of the way? Outside of Alabama, the team we saw last night shouldn't lose a game.

All fair, and perhaps disappointment is a little strong. Perhaps underachieving is a better way to put it.

I am not so much tied to any particular win/loss number. I can envision a loss where we fought our asses off but come up short and feel proud of the team anyway.

So with how our offense played through 4 games you think we would have beaten Fla, Bama, Ole Miss, A&M, and Arkansas and only lost 1 of those games?

I would be excited about 5-2.

After the way this season started, to win 3 out of 5 vs Bama, Ole Miss, aTm, Arky, and Florida would be great. Anything over that would be Lagniappe.

shouldn't be. I expect close games with Bama, Ark, OM and A&M. Winning the other games and splitting those games (close losses, no blowouts) should be looked at as a good season.

5-2 will be very difficult to achieve. 4-3 is realistic, so 5-2 will be a great accomplishment. So, no, 6-1 cannot be a disappointment to a level headed person.

I think a lot of last night had to do with our defense finally showing up and Etling continuing to improve. Now I also said LSU was a 9 win team with/without Les... they had already won 2, so I thought they would go at worst 7-2 the rest of the way.

Etling had a similar game against Mississippi State, the difference was the defense and they could not get anyone off the field during the first 4 games. If this is the defense for the rest of the season then LSU will be fine, if the defense goes back to how they were then LSU could struggle.

No... they played about as perfect of a game last night as you can play.

They looked great, but I wouldn't expect them to play to that level every single week.

It shows what they are capable of doing, but the other teams they will be playing coming up are some really good teams, and LSU can lose even if they play really well.

So I'm not going to say 6-1 or bust.

6-1 is a disappointment. The only way to salvage this season is to win the SEC and hope there are not four one-loss teams.

No, not at all. The rest of the schedule looks pretty brutal. I could see us going 4-3.

That is the way I feel when I consider all 5 games, but based on just last night it is hard to see anyone other than Alabama hanging with us.

Next week vs Florida will speak volumes. A victory over a ranked team on the road will go a long way in restoring credibility to these Tigers.

Our defense is elite. But looking at the schedule realistic losses are to Florida, Alabama, A&M, Arkansas, and Ole Miss. That really can't be disputed. All those teams have a good chance of beating us. Florida, A&M, and Arkansas are on the road. You know as well as I do that playing at the Swamp and at Arkansas has always been tough for us. I know, Les is gone, but 6-1 is more of a great goal than a safe expectation.
