No. They seem to have coverage issues and not sure what Keehn's problem is. I don't know if pressure was causing him to hurry his kicks or what.

When your punters either shanks the kick or out kicks the coverage with no hang time you have a problem. When you have no backup you have a travesty.

Our kickoff coverage has sucked and the punting has not been good, so the coverage there hasn't been good either due to no hang time. They have to improve that for the better teams on the schedule coming up. With all the talent we have, our kickoff coverage should always be good.

Coverage definitely needs to improve! As far as Keehn i wasn't drinking the kool-aid coming in to the year. He is talented yet very inconsistent, just like last year. Definitely have room to improve in these areas.

What about gamble , can he not Kick off in bounds? We know he can put it in the end zone.

NO, they SUCK!! Very poor discipline (I guess result of bad coaching). Too many missed assignments to list, but I'd start with staying in the lanes and tackling.

I happen to know first hand of a PK that tried out this summer that drilled every kickoff into the end zone. We've got one that can't reach the end zone, one that can't keep it within a 52 yard target, and one that was awesome at one time, but hasn't recovered from his physical and/or mental problems at the start of last year. Scholarships are year to year, why is Gamble still consuming one? Give it to one of the walk-on FB or ST guys that are contributing. And don't even get me started on Shankopotomus. Even last year, his average was high because he'd boom a couple each game, yet seemed to shank them at Inopportune times, this year, it's been almost all shanks. It isn't reasonable to expect good coverage when the punt doesn't get more than 15 yards off the ground.

White fielded a couple he shouldn't have yesterday, but man, what a burst. And DJ is likely to bust one before the season is out-he has that extra gear you can't coach.

Thanks to Peveto, Special Teams will probably cost us a game this year. Kick coverage is bad, punting is worse.

Why did we bring back BDP after we had finally gotten rid of him?

I was wondering the same thing. Les usually takes a lot of pride in solid special teams, but they look god awful right now.

Not sure why Gamble isn't kicking off. He can boot the ever-living shite out of the ball.

Keehn - Tries to "aussie" punt every ball. This isn't australian rules football....Brad Wing was a freak to be able to pull that off. I do not care if you are from "down under".....you don't do it well enough for American Football

White - Untll yesterday I would've bet that CLM and Coach P purposely told you to never try to advance a ball.....and I kinda think they still did. Hopefully, they will take the shackles off of you now.

Trent D - You kick a low ball. Always have and always will. You cannot nail a sky kick with 4.5+ hang time that drops at the goal line the way CLM likes....so stop trying. Just blast it out the back of the end zone. And while we are on topic....your flat balls are gonna get one blocked very soon. I look forward to Colby taking back over PAT and FG duty

KO Coverage team - I do not completely blame you guys ( see above) There is not enough hang time on KO to allow you to get downfield timely. However, tackling is piss poor when you finally do.

So to answer the OP question? No, indeed.....I am not happy. Special teams wins games and this is the weakest unit we have

If we are going to have any potential game for the opportunity, try someone else out at punter next Saturday when the game is well at hand. Gotta have Hang Time every Time.

I coverage team looked terrible yesterday. They were out of position and left gaping holes up the middle for the bad guys to run through. Special teams play has to improve, they've been piss poor all year, so far.

I'd like to see Growden get a chance, but I don't think we'll see many punts next week. I just worry that Keehn will cost us with one of his trademark shanks. Also, I think Growden's lefty punts could cause some muffs for us.

The KO coverage had been atrocious.

We are bringing 3 guys to half attempt to block them punt but we still have bad blocking in the return.

Yeah special teams is a mess

Not with coverage.

Returning and field goals seem to be fine, but our coverage has been pretty bad and punting is just a nightmare all around.

no...I was actually thinking about this yesterday...we are throwing a ton of resources (i.e. coaching and scholarships)at that aspect of the game and are still not up to par. people underestimate the importance of special teams and, one way or another, I'll bet that the situation improves before long...

All the talk about D and Harris etc but special teams is what should be concerning people the most. Absolutely awful in all aspects.
