Miles isn't to blame for those drops. He said they would pass it more, and did he lie? They passed it, dropped the ball, and the other team took advantage. Then the RB's got their shot. The WR's just need to step up and do what Miles and co. brought them here to do.

To be fair they did call like 23 pass plays against Syracuse but you had the flip to Fournette, a couple of sacks and a couple of times Brandon tucked and ran.

If our receivers were averaging over 8 yards a touch with 25 touches a game and no turnovers, they would be be getting the ball 50% of the time. They need to step up.

Very true, but I'm certain Mett took his fair share of sacks in the first 4 games of 2012 as well. It probably all evens out in that aspect.

Let's compare passing attempt through the first four games of Beckham's soph year with the first four games of Dupre's soph year:

so you're saying the problem isn't Miles unwillingness to ever throw the ball

Why are you so hell bound on throwing all the time when we have the best player in college football at runningback? I know we need to pass more to win big games, but you act as though we should be the New Orleans Saints.

Must admit that passing numbers are worse, but BH looks much better than AJ. Receivers must start catching the ball. EMU was a chance to keep w the passing game, but CLM thought better of it.

It is interesting to watch everyone respond to this thread as if this is the only year we've ever had a poor passing attack and as if Dupre is the only receiver to ever flounder here.

It's a fairy tale land where one sophomore WR is responsible for everything and the long-tenured head coach bears no responsibility.

Is that what you really got?

I got from most is that we have the best player in CFB and he deserves as many reps as he wants, and so far, the reps that receivers have gotten, they haven't really done anything to warrant more reps

What Dupre said is 100% true and I'm sure he is frustrated, as all players want the ball, but the fact is that when given the opportunities, he hasn't exactly been making the most out of them, which he did admit earlier in the article

Yes that's what I really got. Lots of people attacking Dupre as if he's the important thing here.

but the "we're here...we have to live with it" part of his quote read pretty bitter to me

Good for him. IF he was lied to, and I say IF, it's borderline criminal.

Kid was #1 in the nation and NO DOUBT planned in being a bigger part of the offense.

We've had receivers in the past with some drops, but they still got 2 times the balls that Chi is seeing.

Game reps get your ready for games. He has to have game reps.

It's anchored now so here's what I said to you in the other thread:

I said as much last night, too. It doesn't sound "good" reading the "live with it" part. Makes it sound like he thinks he and the receivers have zero control over how much involvement they have.

But I'm curious what the "..." Is right before he said that. The writer left something out.

My point though is that he was given a leading question. Asked specifically about recruiting to a team the runs 75% of the time. Didn't even reference LSU. MD says yeah, it would be tough to get any WR or QB if you knew that coming in (duh!) But I'm here now; cant change that. And we're supposed to be outraged by this? That he simply answered the question with what every single person knows? It's sad that people are so easily turned to sheep. And reporters will continue to write like this because it works.

Throughout the season I have seen LSU try to establish a passing game but it's hard to keep trying something when the WRs aren't hauling in the ball

James Wright plays for the Bangles and didn't have a catch his senior season. NFL goes more off measurables, character and potential more than college stats
