Brandon Harris is fine in practice, and I'm sure his footwork in practice at LSU was fine as well. But when those lights come on he completely blacks out and forgets everything he was taught. He just doesn't have the poise to be a D1 successful quarterback.
He will not be any more successful at UNC because he can't quickly process all the information that a really good QB needs to process...........

agree, he threw a perfect spiral and was deadly accurate with that throw to the Wisconsin defender last year
This play still kills me to this day. Extremely anti climatic ending to a great football weekend up there.

Because it is relatively easy to get your footwork right when you're wearing the non-contact jersey against the second team at a non-SEC school.

It's not like LSU complicated the passing game for him. He does have a great arm but his short to intermediate throws were awful and it wasn't really footwork on those.
Also, his progressions and reads in a simple passing game were awful as well, I can't tell you how many times he missed wide open receivers because he was locked on one receiver the whole time.

All of Harris' problems are between the ears and I'm not calling him dumb. He panics at times.
Agreed. But I think Harris is more comfortable in a shotgun style offense. The coaches forcing him into a completely different offensive scheme caused him panic at times. Harris had all of the tools a QB needs to be successful, but his issues stem from being in an offense he is not comfortable in. The longer he was in this offense, the more panicked he got, and that is with 2 fantastic RBs on hand.

Doesn't sound like much has changed....same guy.

The analogy I always heard about Harris was that he practiced like Tarzan, but played like Jane.
I just don't understand what happened after Mett left, because he raved about how much he learned in one year under Cameron.
Perhaps Cam couldn't develop young QBs and needed someone with experience to run his system.

he can be plenty accurate when he knows where he is going with the ball
That was his problem here and will be his problem there. I have no doubt he will do good things under Fedora as I trust him much more than Les when it comes to developing QBs and putting them in the best opportunity for success. Fedora will do a much better job with Brandon than we did, but we will definitely see the inaccuracies that he showed at LSU during game time.

I still blame this guy for the downfall of Brandon Harris.

Ah, yes.... it was his feet!
LMAO.... dude didn't know what the frick a check down even meant, nor could he learn more than 20 play calls...
But what do I know (nothing)
I do wish we would just let NC talk about him now, since he is on their team; and we focus on only discussing LSU football.
I wish Brandon the best... I'm betting on him to win their starting job and boost his draft stock this year.

If it was something as simple as his feet, did the old regime really not have the ability to identify and fix that ?
I recall Hanagriff talking about him at a camp, maybe Manning's, last offseason and how he was continually overthrowing. Seems like a QB camp not associated with LSU couldn't either, if my recollection is correct.
Maybe he feel less pressure there so he has relaxed and isn't pressing so much?
Either way I agree with this

When Harris is calm and playing loose he isn't that bad of a player. From the outside looking in it looked like once he starts to stress he completely falls apart. His fundamentals and decision making all degrade majorly. He never could really read a defense well, but I put a lot of that blame on the coaches who put 0 faith in him and never really developed him. I also think he was never comfortable under center.

I wish him well. But they can ALL make the throws in practice.

We did improve his footwork...tremendously since high school. I too hope that he continues improve and has success at UNC.

I still blame this guy for the downfall of Brandon Harris.
Poise in the pocket baw, the game never slowed down for him and failed to improve on a more accurate short game.
Strange Etling came in with less time in the system and ran pretty much the same system better.

this is so silly. Should we also never talk about Fournette, Shaq, Honey Badger, or OBJ either? I mean, they're not LSU players anymore.
Good lord, we can discuss former players and coaches. They're forever part of the LSU story. Just because they walk out the door doesn't mean they're forgotten or not a legitimate subject of conversation.
