I never post on this board, as you guys scare the hell out of me. But, I am bored at work today and will be in Arkansas this weekend for the game, and I will be freezing in the stadium, cheering for my team.
A couple of notes on the season so far to keep in perspective all things college football:
A. We're young. If you look at the game against Wisconsin and the game Saturday night and are not enthralled about the future outlook of the team, then you are short-sighted. We are young and have continually gotten better.
B. Ole Miss and Alabama knew whay we were going to do against them, and they could not stop it. We line up and run the ball. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. We imposed our will and they could not stop it.
C. The game Saturday was heartbreaking, but we were so close to ruining their season. And that in and of itself is semi-satisfying. A play or two our way and victory would have been ours.
D. The effort these young men play with should be the envy of every football program in the nation. They leave it on the field every night, and we should do better to support them.
E. The last one. We almost beat the best team in the country while completing 8 passes. Let that sit in. 8 passes. We beat Ole Miss while completing less than a dozen. What does that tell you about our chances next year with either Harris or Jennings at the helm, with receivers who have also got another year of experience?
The future is bright boys.
Forever LSU.

you're not always going to have 1st round, potential top-10 draft pick left tackles while returning 4/5 starters on the line. Jennings has the best line he'll likely ever have at LSU RIGHT NOW and he's terrible. Harris is getting no legitimate shot to play (@ Auburn doesn't count).

O line gone next year. You'll be able to say the same thing next year. "Don't worry guys. The O line will come together and 2016 is our year!"

I like this attitude.

I'm IN. It was a helluva game except for the last 50 seconds. Tigers played great and showed that LSU will be a force to be reckoned with in the near future.

Most figured 3-4 losses at the beginning of the year.

Not on this board. A 10-2 prediction and you were scolded.

After a brutal loss, we bitch for a couple days.
Come back Weds and it will be better. People just want to voice their main concern, put them all together and it looks like ameregetton. We're ok, we all love the Tigers.

Agree with all of that.
My only concern is the continuing inability to field a quality QB and subsequent passing game that flows from that for nearly the entire Miles era. As much as I love the guy, and as much as I'm willing to concede that having to kick Perriloux off the team in 2008/2009 really screwed LSU up at the position for a while, it does not change the fact that LSU's QB play and passing game has been abysmal except for a few anomalous seasons for 10 years.
That NEEDS to change. I'm actually fine being one dimensional...if we're so by choice. What I'm not ok with is being one dimensional because we have to be. We're LSU. There's simply no way that being one of the beasts of the top division of the top conference in all of college football we can't find and develop a QB good enough to have even a middle of the road modern passing game.
Other than, yeah...I'm incredibly excited about the future.

I didn't think it was that bad. People are still frustrated about the QB situation, but overall it wasn't nearly as bad as after previous losses this year.

i guess it can only get better between seasons? Why can't they improve during the season?

J Russell
M Flynn
R Perilloux
Z Mettenberger
All NFL QBs (at one point)
All within the Miles Era

Again, I think it's mainly frustration with the QB situation. Every other aspect seems to have come together.
I still think we may drop another one, maybe to Arkansas. The world will not fall apart.

I honestly don't have a clue.
Jennings was servicable Saturday night. WR's dropped passes did not pad his stats.

This is the main source of frustration. The defense has improved greatly though.
