That's my only knock on Miles. I Love every aspect about him as a person, recruiter, coach, etc. But what separates great coaches is the ability to make in game adjustments. If Miles can improve on this, the season will be very special. Too many examples to mention but anyone that follows LSU Football knows what I'm talking about.

Miles' biggest flaw is clock management. That is not debatable.

I think if you lump in-game adjustments and clock management in with overall game planning and just say he doesn't game plan very well, then you have his biggest flaw.

Shouldn't somebody banking 5 mill a year know this stuff already? Les is lovable but coaching the finer points of the game are not his strong suit. An unfortunate truth that many seem to accept. Practically anything is possible this season... Good or bad. I hope all the on the job training pays off but not holding my breath. Been burned to many times with high expectations.

And yet he has one of the highest win percentages in college football over the last 11 years. Weird

He could go 9-3 for the next 10 years and still have one of the best winning percentages. Settle, settle, and settle some more.

When has this happened recently? In 11 years he has what 7-8 mishaps? Even lord saban fricks up the time management
Do you watch the nfl? Every single week there are multiple nfl coaches with questionable time management.

Miles' biggest flaw is projecting qb talent at the collegiate level and refusing to play to his qbs strengths at times AND ITS NOT CLOSE

So you're one of the "wins on talent alone" idiots.

You really want to argue that point?

For anyone to say he isn't an Xs and Os guy is probably an idiot. He favors the ground and pound, which has histrionically been successful for us. One of the winningest coaches of all time, and people think he "doesn't know football". Not to mention he has one of the best coaching staff in all of CFB to help him make these "terrible" game plans.

This is it in a nutshell, well said Rickdaddy. The clock gaffs are overblown. The inablility to figure out how to coach the most important position on the field is what holds Miles and LSU back. He wants an atheletic Qb so bad when he recruits he is willing to sacrifice the fundamental skills that make a good Quarterback.
